Dave asked as I slammed his door open. “You were Steve's beta,” I began and the man nodded. “You were the closest person to Steve and I'm sure he wouldn't have hidden anything from you,” I pointed out and again the man nodded. “Then you must know the dealings Steve had with the rogues?” I asked and I watched his reaction closely but Dave merely shrugged. “I didn't know much actually,” he told me and my brows furrowed. “Steve was always closed off and no matter how much I tried to get him to open up to me, he always preferred doing things alone.” Dave explained and I remained silent as I pondered wether or not the man was telling the truth.
