He wondered about the type of life she lived before their engagement. Whatever life she lived, it must have been better than his. I said. “Later,” she dismissed. “For now, you sit.” Kael didn’t give me a chance to argue. He half‑carried, half‑guided me to one of the stones, and eased me down so my back rested against its cool surface.
