Today, I have a very special guest in the studio: Kate Zainab Omar, the face of the heroes of justice maiden magazine. Kate how have you been?” Kate’s POV “I have been doing great, thank you for having me.” “You know since you came back, people have been speculating or even asking what your next move will be after the blockbuster speech during Sheriff Morgan Wilson’s memorial. What is your answer?” June Hall’s POV

She tapped on his username. Kai Rivera. 27. Freelance photographer and graphic designer. His profile was full of moody, high-quality shots — rainy city streets at night, dramatic portraits, and occasional gym selfies that showed off his tall, athletic build, tattoos snaking down one arm, and sharp, intense features. Dark hair, strong jaw, and eyes that seemed to stare straight through the screen. She replied to his comment: laravale: “Dangerous how? 😌” He responded almost immediately.

But I followed him. I could not stay behind. Outside the gates stood a tall man with a thick skin and deep blue eyes. Alpha Kael. He looked even stronger than the last time I saw him. Alpha power was already smelling on his body and he was breathing like thunder. His eyes found me immediately right there as I got lost in thought. “Annie,” his voice cut across the room. “I have come for my mate and my pups.” The woods went silent for a while. I felt another kind of power as Damon touched me.

"Yes. I already told you about her. That Tristan, Alicia, Cyrene and I have been friends since we were kids and that she is my sister." Suddenly, a blurry image attacked my head making me feel dizzy. Two people are talking and I could barely hear them talk. It was us. Cyrus and I. We indeed talked about his relationship with the rest. And she was here last night, Tristan and that guy. "Are you alright?" He asked, concerned. I nodded my head yes. "By the way, who was that guy Tristan and Cyrene were with last night?" He turned to look at me and smiled. "His name is Andy, the guy I told you about at the company. He just didn't make it that day since I asked him to do something for me."

Kael. He told me Kael betrayed me. He told me that the man I had once trusted with my life, the man I ran into the flames to save, had betrayed my trust, had taken away the only daughter I entrusted to him. Giovanni told me that Sienna, my precious child, had perished because of Kael’s betrayal. He broke her beyond repair, and even she was gone, though I had never seen her. Her soul I never met. But then again, I might not even know her.

I open my mouth to say something, but someone beats me to it. “ April, Santino is looking for you,” A maid calls her, and I finally learn her name. I have been afraid to ask what her name is because it would be too embarrassing to ask for it now when we have been chatting for quite a while. I am happy the maid saved me all the trouble, including the embarrassment. I proceed to make myself a little snack and I decide on a sandwich, hunger will be the end of me.

Kai himself knew that. Yes Karen maybe annoying, and he wants to get her out of his head, and he's pushing her away and treating her with disdain. But Karen was the one bright spot in his life. Verena nearly took her away. Four years and the pain of her betrayal was sharp as ever. Kai believed the moon goddess had a terrible sense of humor. Because why else would she mate Verena with Nicolas?! His only friend! His brother! Of Kai ever did meet the moon goddess, he would give her a piece of his mind. A hard piece.

Kate POV I just wrapped up a meeting with future Beta Reid and Gamma John. Although John is my father’s Gamma and head trainer, I would be keeping him on for a term until I found my own Gamma to assume John’s role. John was younger than my father and had only been in the role for five years. He wasn’t ready to retire and had a lot of expertise I would benefit from.

The whole time, I can hardly breathe. As soon as he secures the bandage around my arm, the door creaks open. “Kai, baby!” He drops my hand like it burns. I stiffen. My chest cracks open. Vanessa Miller. Kai's late best friend's younger sister and the woman Kai's obsessed with. I turn, against my better judgment as the omega struts across the room like she owns the damn place. I don't know why Kai loves her so much, she's betrayed him over and over.

Before I could think of anything, he went down on his knees and wrapped his arms around my waist. With a deranged expression, he looks up at me as he pleads desperately. "Tell me, what do I have to do in order to make you beg exactly like this?" "You're not making any sense right now..." I struggle to get out of his tightening hold. He's suffocating me, mentally. "Please, Leaxandra." Caius pleads even more, grinding his body upwards until his face reached my chest. His hot breath fans over my exposed chest as he parted his mouth open, and that's where I lost it.
