Dawn’s POV: As soon as my hands connected with Reagan’s face, his eyes flashed. He snarled as he threw his head back and to my horror, his fangs elongated. However, before he could sink it into my throat, I felt something like wind blow past me. It was so fast and so sudden that it had me stumbling back. What surprised me even more was the fact that by the time I regained my composure, I was standing face to face with Zade whose arms were wrapped around Reagan’s neck as he tried to subdue the obviously lesser vampire.

It started out with the beginning stages of a war, the main character building an army of werewolves to defeat their arch nemesis. Vampires. Fucking cool. I can't stop thinking about it and push myself out of bed, going to the kitchen and grabbing the book. I settle back in bed, cracking the spine and pulling out my bookmark. I start to read and my eyes begin to grow heavy. The next thing I know, my alarm is blaring and the book is laying next to me, open to the page I fell asleep reading at. I shove the bookmark in, setting the book on my bedside table before getting up and stretching. Basil does the same, making that cute whining sound he does when he yawns.

She felt as if she were outside of herself, looking down, and she became more and more confused. She read. And read. And read. Finally, it hit her like a lightning bolt: this book, it was hers. Her journal. The journal of a teenage girl. A story of coming of age. Of going back in time. Of falling in love with a man named Caleb. Of having a daughter named Scarlet. Of becoming a vampire. She wondered if she were losing her mind. Was this some sort of practical joke? Some sort of fantasy she’d had as a young girl? What was it doing here? How did her grandmother have it? And why was she only drawn to open it now, at this time?

A shapeshifter. Behind this man, suddenly, the water blackened with hundreds of boats, all containing vampires, and then the sky, too, blackened with hundreds more vampires. It looked like an entire vampire army, all waging war, and all heading right for the Isle of Skye. Scarlet couldn’t believe it. It was as if this first person had somehow led the way for an entire vampire army. But Scarlet wasn’t about to run. On the contrary. She wanted vengeance for Polly. So instead of turning around, Scarlet ran forward, right for her attacker. And Ruth ran right beside her.

It was better I start over again as a new being and at a new place. It deserves to be the beginning of newer, better, and greater things. ….....The END…….
