The Ends of in Between

The Ends of in Between

Time was ticking dull and tedious. It was when her eyes were shut closed and completely devoured by the obscure and uninvited eclipse eating up the light of her vision. She caught a glimpse of the two nuns for the last time before she dozed off to unconsciousness. Her heart, pounding a loud and banging beat - a rather dire and portentous beat, enveloping her distorted and disturbed psyche to finally lay a single touch of her life before everything else was fragmented.

The Quiet End of Us

The Quiet End of Us

There was no immediate response on the other end—just muffled, indistinguishable sounds. Assuming it was a bad connection, Joanna turned up the volume, accidentally routing the call through her car's Bluetooth system. Suddenly, the strange sounds amplified, filling the car with unmistakable noises—frantic gasps, the rhythmic thud of bodies colliding, and a woman's moans of ecstasy. Then Addison's voice followed, sultry and demanding."Henley, honey... tell me I'm the one you love the most! If you don't, I won't let you finish!"

Our Beautiful Beginning

Our Beautiful Beginning

We exit the club, me, Niko, Andre and Apollo, walking to the vehicle a shot rings out. "Afentikó!" Someone yelled, I'm not sure who. Looking down I see a red spot blooming across my chest, collapsing to my knees the last thought I have in my head are of Layla and the babies. My world turns black.

After the Last Autumn

After the Last Autumn

After standing there for a while and seeing that June had nothing else to say, I left the room without lingering any longer. … Three days later, the hospital called me, and that was when I learned June had jumped to her death. Before she died, she had left behind a note filled with apologies. In it, she begged me that after her death, I would bury her in the land she once loved most. I helped handle her funeral arrangements. After the cremation, I carried her ashes all the way back to the desert. There, I scattered June's ashes across the endless stretch of barren earth. This had once been the place where our love first took root, but time had passed, and so many things had faded that I coul

THE HEART OF MY ENDING

THE HEART OF MY ENDING

The place where she'd hidden from thunderstorms and calculus exams and the slow dying of her father. Now she was curled against his side, her breathing even but not peaceful. He could feel the strain through the bond, the way her consciousness kept reaching for him like a hand groping in dark water. They'd showered twice since returning from the warehouse. Scrubbed Silas's death off their skin. But Julian could still taste copper. Could still feel the moment his brother's body went slack and something vast and terrified poured into them both.

Everything After Survival

Everything After Survival

The color left his face. “Aria…” I kept walking. He reached for me, but the security detail stepped between us. “Where is our child?” he asked, voice breaking. I looked at him for the first time. “Gone.” His body went still. Behind him, Serena touched her stomach and whispered, “Dante, don’t do this here.” He turned slowly toward her. For the first time, there was no gentleness in his face. “Tell them,” he said. Serena went pale.

The End of Your Family

The End of Your Family

He grabbed Kelly and threw himself off the yacht, dragging her down into the ocean with him. They disappeared beneath the waves. … When the news reached me, I felt nothing. No anger, no sadness. Just an eerie sense of finality. It was, in the end, the perfect ending for Zarrick. I turned back to my assistant, unfazed. "Make sure everything is ready for our family vacation." My life was mine to live, and I intended to live it well. My parents—I would take care of them with everything I had. And my darling daughter, Alice—her future would be limitless. The End

He kept flipping through the pages until he reached the last page, which I had written last night. [To the person reading this diary, [If it's you, Barry, I'm sorry. Forcing you to come to your senses in this way might be frightening, but I had no other choice. [If it's you, Calvin, I love you, and that has never changed. But I don't know who you love. [If it's Susan, congratulations. You've won, but the game isn't over yet. [If I'm already dead... The show enters its second act.]

Begin Again

Begin Again

Eden said and eased back in her seat and closed her eyes, wondering why there was a 'good' in 'goodbye'. There was nothing good or wonderful about endings and farewells.

Almost one of the best. Hence, totally agreed to one of the reviewers chapters leading to the end of the novel less interesting perhaps too much effort in making some catastrophe to the story to put some twist. could have made more effort in making the end not to subtle or too obvious.

Val Sims is one of my favorites. Begin Again is the first of her novels that I read and I loved it so much, I had to read all her other works and I love them also. I hope she continues to write because she tells a good story and her characters are believable.

As it was, he was having difficulty moving past what had happened to his assistant during their drive home. He battled with his guilt. Just as Rowan had assured him, Lila remembered nothing of what happened. She wasn’t even aware that there had been a gap in the drive from his home office in Philadelphia to their new home hidden deep in the tree laden forest of the Catskill mountains. Unfortunately, he was very much aware of it. Now, he tortured over whether he should inform her of it or keep quiet and hope that his vampire benefactor would honor his word and refrain from using her in such a way in the future.
