Lewis(My Billionaire CEO)

Their company was derailing and it was rumoured to be bankrupt soon. "Karma gonna get you bad", I said as I shut down my system and waited for Lewis to come. He would be here soon as his next meeting was in 30 minutes. 10 minutes later, I saw him coming, but he wasn't alone. There was a woman beside him and he had an annoyed expression on his face.

THE HEIRESS IN OVERALLS

THE HEIRESS IN OVERALLS

Avery let her eyes close, her fingers tangling in his hair, surrendering to the security of his arms. The private elevator chimed, signaling its arrival. Leo stepped out into the lounge looking sharp in his suit. He had kicked off his dress shoes. Was walking quietly on the plush carpet. He held a gold bottle of champagne and three crystal flutes. "The trading desk in Chicago just locked the opening bell register Ave!" Leo called out grinning. He set the glasses down on the marble bar. Sent a live feed of the surging stock index to the wall screen. "Every short-seller who bet against the merger is scrambling to cover their margins. We didn't just beat them—we completely cleaned them out."

~Jaxon~ “A Long Night indeed.” I chuckled as I remembered the expression written on everyone's face when I was awarded for best new business. Ever since my parents died investors have pulled out from my dad's company that he had spent his entire life building, like they have been waiting for his exit. The best revenge I could get was being successful. “I still remember it like it was yesterday.”The cold evening in Paris where I was with my ex-girlfriend Rose who now happens to now be my wife's step sister.

He knew it was a chance that he could not miss. “Come, let Mr. Lee see what surprise I have for him.” Sirius raised his only hand. Several men and women came into the lobby. Their expensive suits and professional demeanor were signs of them being business elites. They then turned on the laptops they brought and quickly set up a small workstation. Sirius then cackled. “Kaze Lee, let me introduce you to some of the best traders in our country. They could even fight the titans on Walles Street! “I invited them from Geranium and I wanted to show you how we short Rove’s shares. I want you to see how you lose hundreds of millions every minute yet are helpless about it.

Intern Swap System Malfunction: Now My Wife's Losing It

I took the key Shaun had given me and went to his apartment in Meridia. I had just sat down to rest when Shaun messaged me to say Leon had made tens of millions of dollars from his investment. "Everyone in the industry is calling him a guiding light now. Quite a few big shots are following his lead and investing with him…" "Let him have his moment. It won't last for long, after all," I replied. Last time, when he exchanged with a dozen rats, it only lasted two days. This time, he could last at most a week.

The Debt Collector's Price

ISLA'S POV The Hamptons fortress feels like a tomb at 7 AM. My phone erupts with notifications before I’m fully awake. Not the gentle chime of a text, but a barrage of vibration against the nightstand that sounds like a panic attack. Fifty. One hundred. Two hundred in thirty seconds. The headlines are identical, screaming in bold type that burns my retinas. What Separates Me and You

It was so easy to make money! Michael seemed excited too. The most money he had ever seen in his life was 500 thousand. He had never seen such a huge amount before. Lewis asked, "Can you release her now?" Michael snapped out of his excitement and tightened his grip on Josephine. He said, "Not yet. If I let her go, I won't be able to escape." Lewis sneered, "I came alone. What are you afraid of?" "Who knows if you've arranged backup hiding in the shadows?"

This is one of the saddest female leads ever. It keeps getting worse for the FL. The plot is unclear. The reason for him being with both women and his feelings are unclear. It’s entertaining but not very satisfying. Like to know what his feelings are towards them and hope things get better for FL.

Book was a page turner until I got to the end and then had to start reading 1 a day. Some closure to MsJenkins and divorce but not fully closed. No real character development and Josie is getting worse. I will keep reading for now but may be jumping ship soon if Josies situation doesn’t get better.

Savage Reborn: Dumped Him to Marry the Billionaire

"But the bet was 'who can conquer the university first'." "I conquered the Dean!" Leo argued. "I charmed the Gilded!" "You created a spectacle," Lyra corrected. "I created capital." She turned her monitor toward him. "Check the timestamp on the transaction log." Leo squinted. TRANSACTION: CRYPTO-WALLET (LYRA). ASSET: SHORT SKEW ON UNIVERSITY BONDS. PROFIT: +1.2 MILLION CREDITS. TIME: 11:59:58 PM. "I shorted the bonds of every university we targeted," Lyra explained calmly. "Two seconds before we launched the app. I knew the scandal would drop their credit ratings. I made my first independent million while you were popping that cork."

Selling Big, Paid in Pennies

Selling Big, Paid in Pennies

Once everything settles down, come to me, and we'll get you onboarded. I nodded hard, my fingers tightening around my phone. A second earlier, a notification had popped up saying 200 thousand dollars had just hit my account. I didn't give Joe or Sasha another look. I squared my shoulders and walked out of the building. What they didn't know was that with me gone, this place was already one step from going under. I was looking forward to seeing whether, a month from now, Joe would still be strutting around like he did today. After all, I was the one sitting on all the evidence of his tax evasion.

Frequently Asked Questions

I’ve always been fascinated by how 'The Big Short' breaks down complex financial concepts into something digestible, but it’s not without its flaws. One major criticism is that Michael Lewis oversimplifies the financial crisis, making it seem like a handful of geniuses saw it coming while everyone else was clueless. The reality is far messier. The book focuses heavily on a few key players, like Michael Burry and Steve Eisman, but it glosses over the systemic issues that allowed the crisis to happen in the first place. It’s like watching a movie where the heroes are clear, but the villains are just a vague, faceless system.

Another issue is the lack of focus on the human cost. While Lewis does touch on the devastation caused by the housing market collapse, the book often feels more like a celebration of these ‘outsiders’ who bet against the system. It’s thrilling to read about their wins, but it can come off as tone-deaf when you consider the millions who lost their homes and livelihoods. The book’s tone sometimes feels like it’s more about the intellectual triumph of a few rather than the collective failure of many.

Lastly, some critics argue that Lewis’s narrative style, while engaging, can be misleading. He uses humor and wit to make the story accessible, but this can downplay the gravity of the situation. It’s a tricky balance—making a financial crisis entertaining without trivializing it. While 'The Big Short' is undeniably a page-turner, it’s worth questioning whether it does justice to the full scope of the 2008 financial meltdown.
