Bound by the Triplets
POV MADDISON
The black-hull assault yacht Stellaris sliced through the final, jagged barrier of the shallow reef, its carbon-fiber hull groaning in protest as the twin turbine engines suddenly dropped to a silent, low hum. Before us, rising from the dark, churning depths of the Atlantic like a steel leviathan, lay the High Court’s offshore fortress.
There were no searchlights sweeping the water. No alarms screamed into the stormy night. The massive hydraulic doors of the fortress's southern docking bay simply stood open, letting the warm, yellow light of the interior spill across the black ocean. It was a silent, terrifying invitation.
