Mated to the Night Wolf
He shoveled a heap of coal in as I watched.
"I am free and I am a fool." He continued with a shrug.
My fingers gripped around the shovel. Had I been stupid to speak against him?
"Fools have nothing but other fools amongst them." He paused, turning around as he leaned against his shovel, "if you make it past the maze, the shadows, the forest, and the wolf," he grumbled, taking out a bottle of ale he had tucked in his pocket.
