Ghost on the highway
“I am the end and the beginning. You are nothing without me. Give in. Submit.”
Riven gritted his teeth, threads of golden-red energy lashing inward, anchoring him to himself. “I am not nothing. I am Riven Saintwalker. And I fight. Always.”
A laugh—dark, cruel, bone-chilling—shattered the air. Shadows rushed at him, forming knives, chains, and burning fire. Every step, every movement, felt like wading through thick tar, each motion resisted by the being’s pull.
And then he saw Luca, or rather, glimpses of him—the man he loved, strong, steady, fighting just like him. Threads of black and red swirled around Luca as well, and he screamed, not in fear, but in defiance.
