I wasn’t so sure I had gotten his scent right.
But still, I needed to be sure.
I walked up to his chambers, standing in front of his door.
I was surprised to have felt so excited about a while ago getting to find out.
And now standing in front of his door, I suddenly felt the tension of having to lay out the information to him out of the blues.
I wondered how it was he would take in the news.
I shifted back and forth, contemplating whether or not to knock on his door.
And then I summoned up courage, as I had the door opened without knocking.
I had the door opened, as I snuck my way in.
I tiptoed my way up to his bed, feeling joyful and gleeful in letting him know how happy I am to be pronounced his mate.
And then, the lights came on.
I guess he had gone out for a stroll, with me thinking he lay peacefully on his bed sleeping.
As I had thought of it to wake him up with the good news.
“What the hell are you doing here?” he asked angrily like I was an intruder.
I got up to my feet feeling embarrassed from him walking in on me and crawling on the floor of his chambers.
So embarrassing…
“I came to see you,” I said feeling too embarrassed to look into his eyes.
He looked at me with disgusted eyes as he looked me up and down making me feel so uncomfortable.
“We are…” I stuttered.
I looked up into his eyes to find that he had his eyes locked on mine.
“You have been staring at me for quite a while now”
“Do you have something to say or not?” he asked.
I was surprised that he didn't say anything about him having any feeling that we are mates.
“Do you feel any different?” I asked.
Bn
He looked at me confused like I had said something out of the understanding of mankind.
“You are wasting my time here” he shot at me.
I fidgeted with the sleeves of my dress as I finally voiced it out.
“We are mates!!” I yelled, closing my eyes.
I gulped, staring at him nervously.
“I know,” he responded.
I had my eyes wide open the minute I heard him say those words.
I stood there staring at him speechless, hoping to see q
I couldn't reply, I couldn't say anything.
This has to be a lie and I wasn't going to accept any of this.
How is it that he knew and didn't think of it to say a word to me?
“What do you mean you know,” I asked.
His words cut in through my heart as if I had just been stabbed.
I sat back on his couch trying to take in all that was happening right in front of me.
“You don't seem happy,” I said with tears welled up in my eyes.
He crossed his arm around his chest, as he wore a stubborn and unbothered look.
I held on to his arm, hoping he would finally hold me close for an embrace saying how happy he feels learning about us being mates.
He pulled back the moment I had my hand on his arm.
“Don’t” he said.
I felt hurt by his sudden reaction.
“Can you leave please!!” He ordered.
I stared at him In amazement, wondering why he had suddenly asked that I leave.
“Are you asking that I leave?” I said as tears rolled down my cheeks.
I saw that he looked so unbothered, even with the fact that I was in tears right in front of him.
He grabbed me by the arms, pulling me up to the door and asking that I leave.
“I've done nothing wrong to deserve such treatment,” I said as he pulled me away.
“What do you expect me to say?” he asked, staring straight into my eyes.
“Tell me!” he yelled, tightening his grip on my arm.
Silent tears fell down my cheeks as I looked into his eyes.
“I have nothing to say about all of this mating thing between us.
I shook my head, closing my eyes tightly as I didn’t want to accept that he was indirectly rejecting me.
“Are you rejecting me?”I asked, wanting to believe that he wasn’t.
“Just leave!!” he said pointing to the door.
I wanted so badly to settle things with him.
But he wasn’t in for any of that, obviously.
I stared at him blankly for a few seconds and then had my focus back on the door.
“Why are you doing this?” I asked.
I had wanted to know his reasons for all of his reactions.
I wiped my cheeks and took a deep breath, watching the look on his face turn into more anger and rage as he let go of my hand.
I closed my eyes tightly and gulped, with such mental force I held on to the doorknob as I had the door opened walking out.
And then I made my way back to my room.
Apparently, I had been too anxious to let him know about the mating thing.
I laid on my back by the couch as I thought so deeply about what had just happened a while ago.
I had suddenly felt cursed by the moon goddess, given a mate who obviously didn’t want me either.
I closed my eyes, trying to calm myself down.
But the more I stayed still, the more worried I got.
Suddenly, another thought interrupted the moment.
Is he scared to have me marked?…
Well, it wasn’t any fault of my mind that I had to be the weak wolf.
I stared at my reflection in the mirror, regretting why things were seeming difficult at the moment.
And then, I had an idea.
I will talk him out of whatever decision he has of not accepting me as a mate…
