I wasn't a monster. “You watch too many dramas and always have silly imaginations in your head.” I rolled my eyes at her. “Just eat, let’s leave, we have an early practice today.” I signal her to eat up. Ivana looked down at the tea once more, still hesitating. I wonder what she takes me for. “I would never kill what is mine,” I said firmly and she stared up at me with her blue eyes searching mine, I was sure she didn't believe what I said. “I didn’t poison you, so just eat.” I took a large bite on my bread and chewed.

James suddenly grabbed her throat with shocking force. "You want to betray me too! You want to abandon me too!" Michelle struggled desperately, finding it harder and harder to breathe as everything began to blur. Survival instinct kicked in as she grabbed a sculpture from the table and smashed it against James's head. James grunted and collapsed to the floor. Michelle clutched her throat, coughing violently. Looking at James lying on the ground, there wasn't a trace of concern in her eyes—only disgust and contempt. "Look at yourself. Without your parents' protection, you're nothing but trash!

She knows that what she is about to say I something I do not like…however…. “You – you…You’re crazy…” she whispers – almost as if she is talking to herself. Wow! Someone is being bold today. I am quite surprised at this , as I have never heard her say these kinds of things before. My fingers are itching to abuse her – they are being fueled by my anger. However , I play along. “Wha – wha – what ever do mean?” I mimic her stuttering state.

Mimi shook her head, "Jocelyn, you have no conscience. You absolutely have no conscience!" Jocelyn asked, "How come I have no conscience?" Mimi said, "Do you know why I rushed over to him just now?" Jocelyn looked innocent, "Why?" Mimi said angrily, "I'm afraid he'll run into you. Didn't you see that the thief panicked and didn't even look at the road? He almost bumped into you. If I hadn't run into him, it would have been you to be knocked to the ground. You are pregnant. You know what the consequences will be. Humph! So you have no conscience to lecture me just now!"

I blinked a few times so I could draw myself back to reality. I had to calm my nerves. My feelings of jealously were getting hard to control. Hazel still didn't let go of me. She tightened her grip around my wrist. I forced a smile and laughed at the expressions on their faces. They both looked like they had seen the most terrifying horror movie of their lives. "You should have seen your faces." I continued to laugh, holding my belly to support myself from pretending to fall from the 'effect' of the laughter.

He chuckled, leaving the bathroom, she closed the door behind him. End of Chapter 2: Useless & Queen -

Nola Reynolds I looked the tall grinning woman over with one swollen eye as she bustled about the cave room, arranging shit that was much better left on its own. “What was it you said you saw now?” Ma Jules drawled, arching the jagged tufts of one severe black eyebrow at me. “A room in the walls, and-and a creature that copied Dennis’ face, a mimic, or it could have been Dennis the whole time!” I whispered fiercely, encouraged when the coffee-colored woman turned to me sharply, the red threads appearing in the whites of her eyes.

“She’ll unravel.” Maximus’s hand caught mine. “Then you’ll stop them.” I looked at him. And this time, I was the one afraid. “Not if stopping them unravels me too.” When I found the mimic again that night, she was staring at the sky. “They’ll pick one of us,” she said. “But it’ll never be both.” I nodded. My behaviors were driven exclusively by jealousy. I raised an eyebrow, skeptical. "Jealous? Of what?" I asked, my voice still angry. Jemima hesitated before answering. She admitted to me that your love together was something she could not accept as her voice started to crack. The profound love I witnessed between you two was something I had never experienced before and thus didn't want you to feel it. I looked at her face to detect any real signs of remorse. I remained doubtful whether her apology was sincere or just a ploy to capture my interest. I couldn't be sure what she intended to do but I could trust she wouldn't manipulate me again.
