"Don't you dare walk out of this room!" I screamed. I lunged forward, my fingers digging into his forearm. I didn't care about being the "Perfect Wife" anymore. I was shaking so hard I could barely stand, my chest heaving with a pain so sharp it felt like physical glass.

"Since you saw everything, I won't bother hiding it anymore." His voice was calm, as if he were announcing a business decision. "Powerful men always want more. It's normal." He paused, his tone growing even colder. "You may be my wife, but that doesn't give you the right to bring people here to cause trouble at my spa." Wife. The word detonated in the room. Everyone was speechless. "What? Wife?" "Mr. Vance is married?" "This bloody woman is Mr. Vance's wife?" "Oh my god, I thought she was some lowlife from out of town!"

Squabble all you want, but I won’t care, I told myself. “Go back! We don’t care about you! You’re no mother!” Arnie yelled from the door. “We’re not done! You filthy squatter! Remember this, Sophia! You’re his wife! I’m still the woman he loves! Only me!” Sabrina screamed from outside. “So what, mistress?? Even if you come back forever, I don’t care!!! You deserve to be a mistress! Haay, crazy!” I looked at Arnie. He came closer. “Don’t mind that fool. The important thing… the baby is with you, not her.” I smiled at his words.

Tomorrow is a big day for her though the marriage might be a sham but she's still getting married. Once upon a time she had wanted to get married to the love of her life live life like every normal girl and have a complete family. But who was she kidding her life is far from normal, yes she's marrying a man who was once the love of her life. Right now she felt nothing for him all she craves is revenge revenge revenge. And she's going to get it…. The car finally came to a halt in front of an impressive glass-walled building, where a valet stood ready to assist her.

Felt vindicated when Sienna walked in precisely on time, scanned the room like a professional, and spotted me immediately. We were both running from something. She looked different today. Jeans. Simple sweater. Hair in a ponytail. Minimal makeup. Younger. More vulnerable. Her pregnant belly was obvious without the designer dress hiding it. Dark circles under her eyes. She hadn't slept either. "Thank you for coming," I said. "Thank you for calling." We stared at each other. Awkward. What was the protocol for meeting your husband's other wife? The barista appeared. Young guy with a man bun. "What can I get you?"

"She is the one who set up the entire scenario that led to me running to Germany in the first place.” I walked toward him, my eyes narrowed, forcing him to accept my focus. “She used her own husband's stroke as a curtain to execute the perfect financial exit. She is the one who is currently coordinating with Voss to invoke the Marriage Mandate. Jason was just a stupid, greedy scapegoat. She’s the architect of the betrayal.”

Mason asked after some moment of uncomfortable silence. Kate removed her hands from her face and looked up at him with a serious gaze; "Because I was trying to be the perfect daughter they want me to be, the perfect daughter that I have always been. But you know what? I am done! They never really showed me love or care. I feel like a puppet meant to please everyone, I'm also very good for business, and that is what this goddamn marriage is. Business!!! I am fucking done being their tool, I am done being the perfect daughter, and if you expect me to be your perfect wife, then... screw you!!!!!!"

I stated flatly, my voice stressed and drained. “When did you start addressing that whore as your wife? The marriage is all a shab…” “She isn't a whore!” I cut him off. “If you have nothing reasonable to say, I'm hanging up.” “You are not trying to back out of the revenge plan, right?” “My wife is struggling for her life in the hospital, and all you care about is some stupid revenge,” I growled, consumed by anger. “If she dies, it makes things better. I intend on wiping out the entire family and anyone who tries to stop me from the surface of the earth.”
