The Princess And The Frog 2009 Novelas e Histórias

We spent the rest of the afternoon like that. We ended up choosing The Princess and the Frog, and she s seemed very interested. When it's near the end and the popcorn is gone, she puts the bucket on the bedside table and approaches me, lying comfortably on my chest. "I think we're like them," she murmured, sleepy. "How?" I furrow my brow, confused. "I've heard so many bizarre stories about you, about how cruel you are, but you don't seem cruel to me," She holds my shirt in her fingers. "I think you're a prince, Jaden!"

She walks to nearby bookshelves and grabs a book from there then comes and sits beside my bed. “All right today I will tell you a story of a sleeping beauty. Long ago there lived a King and Queen who said every day, “If only we had a child!” But for a long time, they had none. One day, as the Queen was bathing in a spring and dreaming of a child, a frog crept out of the water and said to her, “Your wish shall be fulfilled. Before a year has passed you shall bring a daughter into the world.” And since frogs are such magical creatures, it was no surprise that before a year had passed the Queen had a baby girl. But Elara tasted the poison beneath every smile. She swept into the hall beside her parents, Kael just behind, her gown of deep green catching the candlelight. Nobles bowed their heads, though their eyes followed her like hawks. Already the whispers had begun: The princess and the Ironfang heir. A match written by politics… or by fate. Her stomach twisted.

And the princess was hanging on his arm. She was beautiful. I hadn’t expected anything less, but still, the sight of the lost princess took my breath away. Pale, wide-eyed, with long ripples of fair hair flowing down her back, she wore her workout leggings and an oversized t-shirt borrowed from Kael like a supermodel. With her long nose and arched cheekbones, Freda’s face looked like it belonged on currency. She walked perfectly in step with Kael, the two of them forming a picture-perfect couple: a match made in heaven.

Because here we were, in the middle of the mountains wearing ridiculous masks and hydration packs while trying to track down our girlfriend, and somehow Jarek King had decided nature itself was conspiring against him. “She likes weird things,” he continued. “She likes frogs.” “She almost brought one inside.” “It was tiny.” “She named it.” “Princess Ribbit was misunderstood.” “She was a frog.” “She was family.” Jarek shook his head. “The little menace.” And despite the words, I heard it in his voice. Pride. Because baby doll wasn’t running because she was afraid. She wasn’t hiding because she wanted to escape. She was playing. Laughing. Trusting us enough to enjoy herself.
