She hesitated.
"What's in these?" she asked.
Her father picked one up and handed it to her.
"Open it," he said.
She did.

Something clicked in her mind. Heart pounding, she reached for another box.

Tiny gold bangles. A princess dress. A tiara. Necklaces, charms.
