~NATHAN I stared down at Rainbow in awe. She was now seated on the ground and shaking her head vigorously. Her eyes were wide open with horror as she stared at something none of us could see. Yet whatever it was, it was freaking the life out of her and she could not speak. Her mouth was hanging open as she retreated as if she was trying to get away from it. The blood rain kept pouring down on us as if it were the wrath of the goddess herself. The angry mob of people began to rattle the gates as if they wanted to pull it apart.

Myles wanted to refuse at first, but after the latter threw in a few rainbow pearls, he agreed to take on the task. Rainbow pearls, as their names implied, were pearls that had the colours of the rainbow. And these pearls were several women dreams. They were rare and pretty much expensive, even more than dragon eggs. Because anyone who took them would retain their youth forever until they pass away. It could also extend someone's lifespan by two decades or more. How could people not desire it?

I wasn't sure just how much longer they were going to hold back before letting loose. We had just passed by the hot dog stand again when a crack of thunder made me jump. Owen laughed and pulled me close to him, draping his arm around my shoulder. I smiled up at him and felt something wet land on my cheek. I touched it with my fingertips, confused for a moment until a second heavy drop landed square on my nose. Owen and I looked right at one another with realization that it was raining just as the down pour started.

The kind that almost makes you forget what you were about to say. He extended his hand toward me. “Hi, you must be Rainbow.” I blinked, meeting his gaze. Oh boy.

It also meant the colour of a bruise like the bruises Aunt Alami had around her eyes before she divorced her husband. The rain fell like it did in the Bible when God destroyed all the bad people with a flood. I wondered if another flood was going to happen then I remember it won't because we were told in Sunday school that God put the rainbow in the sky was a reminder of His promise that the world will never be destroyed with a flood again. I put out my tongue and tasted the falling water. So this is how clouds taste.

I stated to everyone. The circle was reformed around my Rain and I stood next to Alpha Trevor. I told him the wait was almost over. He looked at me still unsure of what was happening. I smiled at him and turned back to watch my beautiful mate. The wind picked up around us as rain began to fall lightly from the sky. Lightning flashed overhead as electric currents ran up Rain’s arms. Her electric blue eye and her bright gold eye were both glowing as I watched the crystals detach from the necklace around my mate’s neck. They floated in front of her glowing one bright yellow and the other bright blue.

Teacher Mike beamed at Theo's question and replied, "Rainbows are formed when sunlight is refracted, or bent, by water droplets in the air, like after a rain shower. The sunlight is made up of different colors, and when it passes through the water droplets, each color is refracted at a slightly different angle, creating the beautiful spectrum of colors we see in a rainbow." As Theo listened to Teacher Mike's explanation, his imagination soared, envisioning the magic of rainbows and the science behind their colorful arcs.
