Rising From the Lie

Rising From the Lie

And this is not a luck story. People like to believe that men who rise from nothing do so because fate intervenes or opportunity appears at the right moment. Maybe that happens for some people. It didn’t happen for me. Instead, my beginnings were marked by betrayal—a family that should have been my foundation became my first battlefield. Before I understood or could describe it, I was fighting wars I never asked for. I was born into a lie. I didn’t know it yet.

The Alpha's Desire and the Dragon's Fire

The Alpha's Desire and the Dragon's Fire

Surely? The waves, started to become fiercer, which meant I was definitely approaching the shore. I just needed to get through this next bit alive, and I would make it. From the direction of the current it felt like the tide was likely going in. This was going to be to my advantage. When our parents had taken us on holiday, they’d taught us how the tides work. Jack of course had been too young, but I remembered my dad telling me how the tide coming in carried items with it. If I let go, there was every chance I would simply arrive on the shore.

The Work of Grace

The Work of Grace

Pointing to the wave breaks along the beach visible in the distance beyond the docks, he cries excitedly, "The tide!" Having spent the entirety of my life in these parts and surrounded by these lakes, I know all too well tides don't stir in land locked seas. The waves come from the wind and storm pressure. I clutch Juliet hard against me, locking my fist around the ship's railing as beneath us, the Isle Royale's slow rolling with the water becomes noticeable.

Roses Rising Above the Thorns

Roses Rising Above the Thorns

Although it was a game, they had thoughtfully tied the ring securely to a fishing line before casting it into the water. Even so, none of the women had been willing to jump into the sea—apart from Heather. After confirming that the wager was serious and getting a signed deed for the land, she had jumped into the sea without hesitation. Charles' hand gripped the railing until his knuckles were white when he saw her slight form getting swallowed by the waves.

Rising from the ash

Rising from the ash

She wasn’t sure she was ready to explain the conversation or the emotions that had come with it. Letting out a deep breath, Sophia stood up and stretched, rolling the tension out of her shoulders. She glanced toward the window and noticed that the sky outside had darkened, the sun was setting already and it was almost evening .

Rise and my Soulmate

Rise and my Soulmate

said Erebus, making Vlad then fall silent before finally smiling. "I haven't found him yet. You can look for him elsewhere or you might be able to visit Ocean territory. Maybe he's there. I've heard that the new King of Ocean implemented a rule that it's easy to go in and out of their area as long as they have a mark, which every Siren has. So "I'm sure she's no longer one of the outcast Sirens," said Vlad, making Erebus silent

RISING FROM THE ASHES

RISING FROM THE ASHES

The pain of her losses was still fresh, but the promise of a brighter future was undeniable. As they arrived at the beach, Abigail felt a sense of freedom and joy wash over her. The waves lapped at the shore, a soothing rhythm that seemed to whisper words of hope and renewal. She glanced at her companions, at Liya, Whizz, Simon, and her children, and couldn't help but smile.

A Queen Among Tides

A Queen Among Tides

I can feel the force of the giant wave pushing against me, forcing me to readjust and throw more power into my actions, but still, I feel the fucking thing resisting me. A tsunami may be a natural and powerful force but even it must bend to sirna magic. This thing is fighting me like a sentient being. No tsunami can do that, which means someone is controlling this thing. I keep my hold on the wave as I close my eyes and try to feel the energy behind this beast. I grind my molars in disgust and feel my eyes burn brighter as I sense the presence of more sirna magic. Another sirna is responsible for this, and when I find them I’ll turn them into fucking sashimi.

Another amazing book! I feel as though each book is my favorite in this series and I love the representation. This particular author has an amazing way of challenging vernacular and using it to empower her characters. Her world building has you vested in the outcome of the story and characters.
