TIME TO FALL IN LOVE

TIME TO FALL IN LOVE

[The Rising Tide] The sound was not a roar; it was a groan, a deep, tectonic weeping that vibrated through the soles of my feet and into my very marrow. Through the reinforced glass of the Core, the horizon of New Macau was changing. The sea, once a shimmering sapphire girdle around our high-tech paradise, was retreating with an unnatural, predatory speed. It left behind miles of grey, glistening silt and gasping reefs—a bared throat waiting for the knife.

The Eclipse Secret Child

The Eclipse Secret Child

A massive, bioluminescent wave, hundreds of feet high, appeared on the horizon, moving toward the golden docks with a terrifying, silent speed. "The Triple Crown isn't just about ruling," I said, stepping to the edge of the dais and looking at the oncoming tide, "it’s about holding the world together when it wants to fall apart, and I’m not losing my city to a cult of ghosts."

The Beta's Daughter

The Beta's Daughter

“Let’s see it.” I turned the paper over, and revealed the poem scrawled in pencil on the back. Down the streets of woodland black I wander, earth to hearse In every tree I see a wave A looming tidal curse On the cusp of something greater Stood ankle-deep in floodwater Stagnant pools of brown and red The onslaught is coming; I dread For each dark night and each pearl day The mist does clear too soon The floodplain is drown’d again The water, torn from its ocean womb

The sound of the waves rose, steady and sure, like a heartbeat echoing our own. For a moment, it felt perfect.

MY FIRST LOVE

MY FIRST LOVE

** A Journey of Their Own** The next morning dawned with a soft mist hanging over the sea, the kind of fog that made the world feel both smaller and larger at the same time. Lillian blinked awake to the sound of the waves crashing gently against the shore, the rhythmic pulse of the ocean a constant reminder that life was moving forward, ever steady.

Fading Slowly but Surely

Fading Slowly but Surely

Those simple sentences kept echoing in Emmett's mind. All at once, it felt like he had been cursed. Those words echoed in his mind so much that a sharp pain spread across his forehead. The immense pain left him devoid of any strength. With a loud thud, his phone fell and slammed onto the table. Unfortunately, Emmett had tied the candlesticks with thin threads to ensure an even distance between each. One candlestick fell, pulling on the threads and causing the others to fall over, too. Hot flames spread onto the dead leaves and feathers on the ground. It then traveled toward the wooden dominoes.

“Oh, come on, Lana. That was different.” She raised an eyebrow. “Was it?” “Yes.” He leaned back in his chair, stretching his arms. “Taylor and I had history. This is just… something new.” Lana scoffed. “Something new. Right. Just like the last one. And the one before that.” Ryan frowned. “Why do you always do this?” “Do what?” “Act like I’m ridiculous for liking people.” “Because you don’t just like people, Ryan. You fall. Instantly. Without thinking. And then, when it all falls apart, I have to sit here and watch you pick up the pieces.”

Louisa Unchained

Louisa Unchained

The sight of Agier Sea appeared in my mind again. Dark, cloudy sky, close within vicinity yet still remained far away, marching forward like a giant warship. Wind crashed into the ocean, leaving traces of foaming clouds. An impending storm was on the horizon. For a brief moment, I was falling, twirling, being taunted by the waves of the ocean, like the smallest drop of water, so invisible, yet so alive, ready to evaporate into the embrace of the sky, at any given time.

Taming Mr. Arrogant

Taming Mr. Arrogant

Jade The salt-kissed breeze wafted through the open window, carrying with it the distant cries of seagulls and the relentless murmur of the ocean. I stood there, inhaling deeply, the briny air filling my lungs and cleansing away the acrid taste of past regrets. A fresh start—that's what danced on the horizon, shimmering like the sun-dappled surface of the sea before me. My life, up until this point, had been a relentless mire of chaos—a fool’s errand chasing after a love that turned out to be nothing more than a mirage orchestrated by a nut head whose name I now refused to let stain my thoughts. But here, at this moment, with the vast expanse of possibilities stretching out as far as the eye
