Heeey guys. I know I know I disappeared and let's not get started on the accidental rants that I posted. Let's just say I snapped buuut y'all can't judge me😂😂I'm human. But we're finally coming to the end of Unshatter Me. I can't believe we made it this far but one things for sure is that I wouldn't have been able to do it without y'all. A variety of a dozen or so tents litter the small clearing. A small group is gathered around a fire, far off to our right, on the edge of the clearing, consisting of three Omegas Cody, David and Tony, and an Elder, Alazaer. The Omegas are each holding a glass beer bottle and seem to be taking turns trying to get Alazaer to laugh. However, each time, he just raises a thick gray eyebrow at them with a blank and unamused expression on his tan wrinkled face.

Given that one could die any of a thousand ways out here, I decided that obedience was the best way to live to see her in my bed that night. Five minutes passed… then I heard shouting. “Let’s move,” Forty ordered. We moved. I followed her instructions to the letter, and in just a minute, we were on our way out with our packs full of platinum scrap. The second my foot left the doorstep, I heard a loud bang and backed up again. Someone was shooting at us and I saw concrete chips flying. “Damn!” Forty swore. “We’re pinned… any ideas?” Me? I was brand-new to grand theft. “Not a clue.”

It was time to move on. The Shadows convulsed and oozed towards the urn with a ravenous intensity. But before I could change my mind, they engulfed it… shattering it into 1,000 pieces. Silver and black shards exploded into the air, piercing my chest and scattering across the room like a dark, malevolent rain. I fell to my knees as my heart shattered, once again, the shards piercing my very soul. I clasped my hand over my heart, struggling to draw breath, and fought to stem the tide of tears that threatened to overwhelm me.

she snapped her fingers dramatically. “You’re already a problem, Lola. Just not the academic kind.” She flipped her braids like a diva. “Exactly. Balance is the key.” The fan above us groaned as it turned slowly, like it too was tired of this routine. I let my eyes scan the room. Desks were scattered with wrappers and books half-unpacked. Chalk dust floated through slanted sunlight. Everything looked familiar and slightly drained. Like we were all waiting for the real term to begin.
