ALPHA JAKE
“I need to tell you something, but you have to promise not to tell anyone else. Not even Jake.”
Fatima raised an eyebrow. “This sounds serious.”
“It is,” I said, sitting down across from them. “It’s about the twins.”
Their expressions grew even more serious, and Sophie leaned forward. “What about them?”
I hesitated, glancing around to make sure no one else was listening. Then I told them everything—about the bath, the bubbles, and how they floated in the air as if guided by an unseen force.
When I finished, there was a long silence. I braced myself for disbelief, for laughter, for anything that would dismiss what I’d seen.
