The only thing on my mind now was to get Sharlynn back – the real Sharlynn. I contemplated not going to school the next day after Reyna caused a scene at my house but I kind of felt that I would find Sharlynn back to normal again so I quickly got up from bed and prepared for school. Though aunt Linda already explained what an Unami was – she said that they are as avatars of a very powerful supernatural entity and that though that entity could have avatars representing its different strengths, all the avatars were the same as the entity itself.

Within moments, a furious crowd gathered, their faces filled with suspicion and anger. The pack’s Alpha arrived, his expression grim. “She’s a witch!” Garrick shouted. “Zirelle is cursed! She killed her parents with her dark magic!” Gasps and murmurs spread through the crowd. The Alpha’s wife stepped forward, her voice cold. “Dark magic has no place in this pack. She must be punished.” “No! Please! I didn’t do it!” I cried, but my pleas fell on deaf ears. “Prepare the rope!” the Alpha commanded. “She will hang at dawn!”

Without another word, he ran back to the classroom. Ramona raised an eyebrow. "The school bans us from going there because of all the bugs, right? Why is a dude like him so scared at the mere mention of the grove?"
