Honestly, after the shit cards fate dealt her, I didn't blame her for keeping to herself. But that didn't mean she was weak or incompetent. It meant quite the opposite. Lettie was the most badass woman I knew, tough as nails and ready to fight when needed. With a mate like Zane, she has to be. Both came from horrid pasts that hardened them into the people they needed to be, and I was happy to be one of the people they allowed in their circle and loved wholeheartedly. Because I knew without a doubt that they would move mountains to protect the ones they cared about.

It did not sound like ours, so it had to be my mystery mate. I turned towards the fight and saw Brynn’s aura holding one in place while Theo ripped his heart out of his body. Dustin and Maya were both attacking the other with relentless precision. Two of our warriors were applying pressure to their wounds. Another warrior was standing guard over my mate who was laying on the ground. I told the warrior to aid Dustin and Maya, wanting to destroy the bastard as quickly as possible.

Because this warrior isn’t an Alpha, his healing is slower than Warren’s. I push down my need to go see my mate, feeling him reaching out as he crosses our borders.

I looked at my broken mate on the bed, not knowing what he needed. His sobs were rocking his entire body. He was broken just like I was. Why had we both suffered so much pain? I crawled onto the bed, wrapping my arms around my broken mate and just holding him like he had done to me.

Alison was still struggling on the ground with the pains of the knife that got into her belly, she cried, as she kept on fighting off the pains that engulfed her. Dimitri got a signal that his mate was in danger, he could feel it, and with that he got infatuated to anger as he shifted into his wolf's form and trotted in la fast pace. On reaching the spot that his mate lay, he saw her on the floor, in her own pool of blood. She had already passed out. He got infuriated, as he howled, and groaned. He was expressing his anger, and as well gave an alert to the culprit that he was around and would look for him.

I grab the other two and claw my hand through their stomach . More rogues step out ready to attack me but my warriors take over the battle finishing what I just started. The atmosphere is filled with bloodshed and the sound of our wolves biting and fighting each other . I rush to my mother's dead body and my heart breaks . My own mother . First it was my sister now my own mother . I let out a painful howl as I clutch her body next to my chest . I look at the circle next to me and I see my mate lying down . I can still feel the mate bond but she's barely holding on .

I whisper out. I had fallen to sit on my knees looking down, tears falling from my eyes. I feel two soft hands on my shoulders and she pulls me up. “Dear child, you are not broken, scarred yes, but not broken. A broken person doesn’t care about anything, they dong feel love and they don’t fear losing it. You are not broken, not completely. Not more than u can be repaired. Question is, will you let your mate help you?” I look into the shining silver eyes belonging to the moon-goddess. I can see she mean every word she just spoke. As I stand there two wolf souls come over to the moon-goddess and me. I see the moon-goddess smile and scratch their ears.

I can't hide the truth from him forever. That's all I have been thinking about for the rest of the day. I am tired of all this lamentation. Gosh! I have hardly been with Damien for a day! Why can't I just move on and everything goes back to normal? Because we are meant to be together, I answer myself. Mates stick with each other for the rest of their lives unless one rejects the other. That's it! Rejection! If I reject Damien and refuse to be his mate, then the mate bond can be broken! If I am lucky, then the moon goddess will give me a second chance. I'll get another mate who my family can accept as well as my pack!
