The Neighborhood Keeper

The Neighborhood Keeper

Hannah was just one of the many women kept here. These women could be in it for the money or simply left without a choice. They enjoyed a life of luxury at the price of their freedom. Trapped in loneliness, they sought companionship outside the community. I was chosen to fill that hole. “Since you’ve made up your mind, stick around and do a good job. You’re in a man’s paradise. There’s plenty of money and women to go around.” Certain I’d see things her way, Emmy had no qualms about sharing the details.

The wife he left behind

Something that looked, more than anything, like anger finally finding somewhere safe to live. “I built a bed and breakfast,” Hannah said slowly. “Eleven rooms. I have given thousands of strangers somewhere to land, because nobody ever did that for me.” She looked up, and her eyes were bright, fierce in a way Cloe hadn’t seen from her yet. “I am not going to let a company that’s never once asked how I’m doing tell me I’m not allowed to talk about the one good thing that’s happened to me in fifty years.” Daniel, beside her, reached over and took her hand.

Gen YA
The storyline is good but I hope the author should refrain from so many redundant repetitive words, dialogues, side thoughts, actions of the characters, which are becoming an annoyance, tiresome to read further, just be direct with the story.
Araceli Rocio
Chapter 32 and I cannot stop. A very young boy deciding to find everyone the world forgot, it sounds simple until you’re actually reading it and realising how profound it is. Dave doesn’t feel like a fictional child. He feels completely real. And every chapter ends right, this book is amazing!!!

The Woman Who Cracked The Code

The Woman Who Cracked The Code

Curious and slightly wary, and entirely unaware that the woman standing ten feet away from her had once counted her fingers in a hospital room and memorised every one. "Mama," Luna said softly. She was looking at Isabella. I felt a sharp pain pierce my heart. Isabella held her closer and turned away without looking at me again, and Elias followed, and the man by the laptop pulled the drive and pocketed it, and within two minutes the warehouse was emptying of everyone except me and the still, silent figure in the wheelchair by the far wall. The door closed. I stood completely motionless until I heard the cars outside start and pull away.

The Second Wife's Revenge

The Second Wife's Revenge

"Why?" I thought about it honestly. "Because writing about it means going back through it. All of it. Carefully. Deliberately. Not just the big events. The small ones. The specific texture of what it felt like to be Flynn's wife. To be no one. To not know my own name." "That sounds hard." "Yes." "And necessary?" I looked at the city around us. December. Cold. People moving fast in every direction. Millions of lives happening simultaneously. Somewhere among them, women in situations I recognized. Marriages that looked like mine had looked. Selves being made smaller by increments so gradual they'd stopped noticing.

My Gorgeous Ex-Wife, Come Back to Me!

My Gorgeous Ex-Wife, Come Back to Me!

Then she awkwardly cleared her throat and greeted her with a smile, “Raina, you are here.” However, Raina paid no attention to her pleasantries and just sat down opposite them. ‘How ironic! Gary raped me and exchanged for the Hill family’s protection over me. On the other hand, my mother slept with Adam in exchange for his help and power. Did being pathetic run in the blood? Both my mother and I were being trembled by a vile man. What a shame!’ She thought. Suddenly Hannah looked at something and her expression changed in the blink of an eye. With a frown, she strode toward her, forcefully, ripped open her collar, and asked, “What is this?”

Never Forgive You, My Ex-Husband

Never Forgive You, My Ex-Husband

He clings to her like a drowning man to driftwood, never realizing she is salt water herself—ready to swallow him when the tide turns. I can live with the Mancini empire burning. But I cannot allow myself to burn with it. ********************************** I find Hannah in the west library just after midnight. The fire is low, more smoke than flame. She sits curled on the end of the leather settee, her body turned toward the light, as if willing herself to glow in it. She looks every bit the tragic wife—the silk robe, the wineglass untouched, the blank stare into the hearth. But I’ve been in this house long enough to know an act when I see one.

She explains. I honestly didn’t give the camera a second thought after I realized that I forgot it at the barn. I was worried about getting Gabe to the packhouse and then I was busy trying to take care of him while he recuperated. “I also hear that you helped my little girl too.” She beamed at me. Then she grabbed my hand to examine my palm. How did she know? “It’s alright Hannah, you can trust Christine”, Gabe tells me seeing that I am anxious about this conversation. Christine goes on to explain that she works as a researcher for a nonprofit that was established by a coalition of packs in the area.

A Woman's Worth

A Woman's Worth

She knew all too well that even if she takes Jiuhan away and brings it to court, Allana and the people behind her can easily overpower anyone and make her lose the battle even before it started. But who would ever think that life was still giving her more and more challenges that would make her question herself? “You look pale, I will put you to gardening tomorrow so that you can get some heat. And you should go and help the others later.” Krista is not an unreasonable leader and that was also the reason why prisoners respected her. They said that when the woman first arrived inside the place, she was pretty meek and introverted, people claimed that she was framed up by second-generation ric
