The Goddess Vessel

The Goddess Vessel

There was no handle. Kaelen placed his palm flat against the center of the door. A complex series of runes glowed blue beneath his touch, there and gone in an instant. With a deep, resonant thud, the door slid sideways into the wall, revealing what lay beyond. A study. It was not the lair of a monster I had imagined. It was a place of severe, chilling order. One wall was a single, vast pane of enchanted glass, looking out over the sprawling, twinkling nightmare of Crimson Sands. The other walls were lined with shelves containing not books, but thousands of crystalline data-slates, each pulsing with a soft, internal light. A large, minimalist desk of the same dark metal as the door dominated

The Chosen One

The Chosen One

Another chamber door opened and they walked into a lanky, radiantly lit corridor with a shiny stone floor and immaculate golden and silver walls. The corridor was vacant but not quiet. The magical lights hummed and the ventilation overhead whirled from the small window-like opening. Tommy was surprised because it looked like a modern air conditioner. Looking thoroughly, he stepped to survey what it was, but then to his amazement, it wasn't a window. It was a triangular panel with a block of ice that didn't melt or maybe with the help of magic he guessed. On the side was a small apple-like bee creature flapping its wings. "Wow! I did not see that coming."

The Billionaire's Bride: Our Vows Do Not Matter

The Billionaire's Bride: Our Vows Do Not Matter

The heavy metallic door clicked shut, its echo reverberating through the dimly lit corridor, a chilling finality that made Cathleen's skin prickle with unease. As it thudded closed, it seemed to sever her connection to the outside world, plunging her into Xavier's enigmatic realm. The sound of the latch sliding into place signaled an irrevocable commitment to whatever awaited inside. The door itself was a formidable barrier, its surface etched with intricate patterns that seemed to whisper stories of past encounters within these walls. Each scratch and dent told a silent tale of secrets and desires hidden behind its imposing facade.

I want to tell the author of this good story to please allow cathleen to have a better man than of Xavier & Finn. Neither of these two deserves her. I want Cathleen to find someone so great and faithful who won't hurt & humiliate her in anyway, a man who's only for her just like how she's still V.

Her Fae Prince

Her Fae Prince

Ember laughed lightly and Caleb offered his arm with a bow again and they walked down to the ballroom. As they got closer they could hear the chatter and murmurs coming from the crowd. The main doors were closed most of the guests would have arrived through the glass doors from outside or the smaller entrance on the other side. These doors were meant to make a statement. They were made from wood and carved with intricate details of the history of wolves. The moon goddess across the top with her arms spread wide with the first pack in various stages of the shift. It was beautiful and one of Ember’s favourite things in the castle. She always saw something new every time she gazed on these door

Vampire of the New World

Vampire of the New World

She did not look directly at the portrait, but instead looked straight at the door, but from the corner of her eye, she could not help but see the burning gaze of the man on the portrait that sent chills all over her body and made the skin on her neck stand on its ends. Flora immediately tried the knob and found the door to be unlocked. Maya did say that she had unlocked the doors to the rooms that needed to be cleaned and the blankets, sheets and curtains needed to be replaced. The door itself was bigger than her own door at the servants’ quarters, Flora thought. It was heavy and reddish in color, in keeping with the theme of the house. Flora wondered about the source of the wood which woul

Excellent book! Plenty of suspense with vivid descriptions of locations and characters! I've reached Chapter 169 and didn't see any issues. I hope the author updates soon with new chapters! Great work!

This is an extremely well-written book. Of all the books I’ve read on the platform, this author’s command of the English language is the best. The story is great and reminds me a lot of Bram Stoker’s Dracula.

Behind Closed Doors

Behind Closed Doors

The next morning, Astrid woke up feeling refreshed. She took a good look at the room. The ceiling, instead of being completely white—like most ceilings—was made of glass. It had an illusion made to look like the sea, with large and small different, colourful fishes. The floor was similar to the ceiling. Anywhere her feet touched would shimmer under her, making her feel like an otherworldly creature. The walls were made to look marbled with black and white colours. There was a sixty-inch television mounted above a small fireplace, right opposite the queen-size bed.

Night of the Rogues: Trapped with the Enemy

Night of the Rogues: Trapped with the Enemy

“Fine! Be quick!” Corina got up and vanished in a cloud of silk. Her heels clicked loudly as I kept my eyes on the lump of filthy meat in front of me, desperately hoping he had slipped into a coma or something. Then I heard a huge heavy clunking sound. I poked my head around the doorframe out of curiosity. She had shut the main corridor door. Those doors only got locked in an emergency, like a fire or a riot. She had locked me in with Ronan. Thank fuck he was unconscious though my pulse had already begun to rocket.

The author of worlds. Alle creates a universe then sucks you into it. You get to watch as her horribly human characters twist & turn: you feel their anger, frustration, loss, longing, fear & root for them as they find their peace, hope & love. Always in my top 3 authors and never disappoints
Spacekonijn
Spectacular and surprising from beginning to end. I had theories of the plot at many times and was proven wrong almost every time. This book has it all; multiple plot twists, original setting lovable and hatable persona, life and dear. Tangible fear and unbridled happiness. Must read!

100 Doors: Die Fabulously for the Audience

But the man before her did not appear pleased with such progress. “You’ve only delayed death,” he murmured dismissively. “It will come, and twice as hard.” He turned and walked toward the exit of the castle, just as the system chimed above them. “Door One: Dracula Castle, completed. Door Two: The Girl in the Mirror, completed. Players should proceed to the exit and wait for further instructions.” The doors of the castle opened one after another, and players stepped out.

Sweet Revenge: Jace & Emerald

Sweet Revenge: Jace & Emerald

He just had to find the right door. Cedrick continued his search, each step deliberate and silent. The corridor stretched ahead, an endless series of doors and secrets. As he moved, he noticed something peculiar—no CCTV cameras were in the area. Given the nature of the Red House, Cedrick was certain that surveillance existed but was hidden, perhaps embedded discreetly within the ornate decor or behind the elegant wall fixtures. This realization made him even more cautious. He had to tread carefully, knowing that eyes could be on him at any moment.

Anyone who thinks the doors in 'Coraline' are only a plot device to the Other World is missing half the point. They're a direct, physical symbol of choice and consequence. The real door is blocked with bricks—a literal barrier to a dangerous escape from reality. When it's finally open, it becomes a threshold Coraline must actively cross. She makes that choice. The other doors in the house, like the one to her parents' room, stay ordinary, symbolizing safe, boring reality.

But the small door is the big one. It's the allure of something 'better,' presented as glamorous and perfect, but it demands a price. The act of going through it symbolizes trading the flawed real world for a manufactured one. And in the end, she locks it, using the key as a tool of her own agency. The doors aren't just symbols of another world; they're symbols of the decision to enter or leave it, and who holds the key.
