“It’s okay. I am confident enough.” Once again, I found myself facing her—the red-haired villainess who wanted to take my place in Vince’s life. She wanted to force her way into his life. Even her punches and blows were fuelled by anger, and yet it was almost too easy to overpower her. “Remember when you called me a bitch and a loser? We both know who the bitch is. And it looks like I am not a loser either,” I said, scoffing at her, knowing it would enrage her.

“I’m a princess.” There was something about the way she proudly declared it that made me smile before I could stop myself. “Yes,” I said quietly. “You definitely are.” She moved closer to the mirror, smoothing invisible wrinkles from the dress. “I think,” she said thoughtfully, “I’m the kind princess.” “Oh?” She nodded seriously. “And I forgive villains,” she added. I crossed my arms. “Even terrible villains?” She considered that. “Well…” she said slowly. “Only if they say sorry.”

But life doesn't make sense, anyway. Now regarding her, it was expected. I disappointed my sister, by killing one of the people she loves the most in this world, our eldest brother, Octavian. And besides her sad feelings making me feel like shit and like I failed with her, I can't help but not give a damn about his death at all. And having this mindset is what makes people see me as a villainess. I can't deny that either. Again, I know what I am. As well as I know that all of the things I did, took me to where I am now.

If they were going to paint me as the villain in their story, the least they could do was acknowledge just how dangerous I could be. I wasn’t a monster. Not really. But a villain? Well, maybe. I mean, we’re all villains in someone’s story, aren’t we? The way I saw it, I was just trying to survive. This world didn’t reward the weak. It was survival of the fittest, and I was born to win. I had to win.
