“You didn’t even argue.”
“I don’t argue when I see opportunity,” he replied.
Something was wrong. I could feel it in my bones.
“You agreed too fast,” I said slowly.
A dark smile curved his lips. “You will learn, Drina, that when I say yes quickly, it is because I have already planned ten moves.”
My stomach dropped.
He leaned closer and lowered his voice. “Welcome to the war.”
