And in the distance, she saw it. The Realm. Not as she had experienced it—the Field, the Glass Room, the Memory Court, the Garden, the Red Chamber, the courtroom, the mirror chamber, the field of statues. She saw the Realm as it was. A living thing. A breathing, thinking, suffering entity that had existed before human beings had words for existence, and would exist after the last human breath had been exhaled.
