The Spiral trembled with anticipation, its song rising like a storm caught between pulses of creation. Lucien writhed on the platform, light bursting from within him in jagged intervals, as if the Spiral was trying to forge him into a shape he was never meant to wear. The first crown—the one bound to fire and memory—still pulsed with her rhythm, its glow steady, fierce, familiar. But it was the third, half-born and flickering like a secret, that drew her breath short and locked it in her throat.

"There's a leader, a human with a twisted grin. He's holding a ancient tome, bound in black leather. The cover is adorned with silver runes, pulsing with dark energy." Rosalind's vision zoomed in on the book. "The runes are a mix of human and werewolf script. I can feel the power emanating from it, a dark and malevolent force." Cathryn's voice was grim. "That's the Order's grimoire. They've been searching for it for centuries." Rosalind's vision shifted, revealing a massive army of humans and werewolves, gathered at the edge of a city. "I see an army, Mom. They're preparing to strike, to take over the world."

Very soon I felt the power flow from my heart to my hands, and then aconite vines began to develop within it. When I finally opened my eyes, Oliver was on the ground, and the werewolf jumped to pin him down and probably tear apart. Without hesitating, I tossed the aconite vines ahead, which began to twist towards the werewolf at a dizzying speed, as if it were being pulled towards him. Even when the wolf noticed them and rolled aside, resigning from attacking Oliver to escape the vines, they followed him as if they had eyes. Eventually, the aconite vines twisted around the werewolf's body in three places - on the abdomen and around all four legs - binding the creature tightly like a chain. A

Briar followed a heartbeat later, fingers tightening around her staff as she murmured, “They’re here.” The shadows shifted, and three Umbra warriors emerged soundlessly from the darkness, their armor swallowing light, their presence bending the glow of the forest away from them so completely that even the bioluminescent moss dimmed beneath their boots. Elora’s bloodbond screamed, pain flaring hot and sharp across her chest as corruption recognized what it wanted. “Take the girl,” one of them commanded, his voice distorted and hollow. “Eliminate the rest.”

“I can do it again.” Outside, the bells tolled midnight. Deep beneath the palace, in the Sanctum, frost crept along the golden walls. A bodyguard with utmost respect opened the door of the central stretch limo. William Vincent, the iron-fisted ruler of Northland's shadowy corners, clad in a sleek black trench coat, walked over the glittering carpet of broken glass towards me. He was the man behind the mysterious calls, my mentor in all things firearms, my ace in the hole. William dropped to one knee before me, indifferent to the shards of glass slicing through his pricey pants.

She steps forward, calm but commanding. Ceres: “Let them open the gates. Or we break them.” The ground hums. Magic flares. Inside the box were three rings. "Will you marry me?" The view of the rings in the warm light of the candles made the rings even more charming. Bianca couldn’t understand why there were three rings, but even after a quick look, she could say which one was supposed to be hers. The smaller one with the writing: Crow. But right then, her eyes noticed another writing: Crowolf. The ring looked out of this world, filled with some difficult-to-name force, emanating from the round shape and the writing itself. It shone in the flames of the candles as if it were alive.
