Total Drama The Ex-files Novels & Stories

“Here’s the file, sir. These are the reports and highlights of the last meeting Natasha filled up on your behalf; our top investors and shareholders are threatening to withdraw from the company if the exponential growth of their investments doesn't come in handy.” Rex stretched a blue cover file to Damian who was buried in his office chair, rocking it from side to side, running his palm to and fro around his jaw lines, drawing an invisible pattern. “Drop it on the table.” He directed with a calm soothing voice. One could tell he wasn’t fine. But his body language and facial expression had told a different story.

It was the only proof that I was still alive. Shawn trembled as he flipped through the photos. Red veins appeared in the whites of his eyes. "Our investigation shows that since you took over Eversource Corp, you deliberately targeted Mr. Sadler. Does this have anything to do with your mother?" the officer said. Shawn let go of the photos. "No." "Is this revenge for Mr. Sadler allegedly cheating with Chris Cutler five years ago?" "Yes." "Why wait five years to take revenge?" Shawn balled the photos in his hand. "I don't have to answer that!"

Rake pleaded. Ava kept her head bent without saying a word as tears rolled down her eyes and dropped onto the car floor. "Why does it have to take us dying for you to show me you care?" Ava whispered as the salty taste from t her tears settled on her tongue. The driver handled the steering like a rollercoaster. He drove the taxi on all four lanes of the road as he tried to shake the black cars off his tail. Once they reached the side of the street that did not seem occupied with many cars, Rake took out his gun and drew the left back door window glass down. He then put the upper part of his body out the window and opened fire.

Tyler slammed the door to his office behind him, rattling the glass walls as he stormed in. His tie was loosened, and his normally calm demeanor was shattered. He hurled the file in his hand across his desk, scattering papers in all directions. His assistant, Ben, followed warily, keeping his distance as Tyler dropped into his chair and put his palms against his temples. "Get Accounts in here," Tyler demanded, his voice quiet but furious. "Now." Ben nodded swiftly and backed out of the room to deliver the order. Tyler leaned back and stared at the ceiling, his thoughts whirling.

“He called me. We talked. I yelled at him about the apartment swap. He suggested we meet in person. I agreed. And then I burned chicken aaannd we ordered takeout.” Anna gasps. “No.” “Yes.” “Nooo.” “Yes.” She clutches her chest like I just gave her terrible news. “You burned chicken in front of your ex?” “Tragic, I know.” She shakes her head. “Clarice, I raised you better than this.” “You did not raise me.” She waves a hand dismissively. “Details. What happened after the Great Chicken Disaster?” I roll my eyes. “We talked some more. We ate. We were civil… and then he left.”
