Fuck. I peer down seeing my brother suffocate on his own blood as his pulse slows. “Brother … what have you done?” I choke out the words as he coughs and splutters on the floor. The fact my brother is even alive is because he is a hybrid. “Couldn’t let you die, what are big brothers for?” he banters even at this time he still has his humour.

“Our brother's dying,” My world collapsed immediately.

“My father may be strong, but no one cheats death forever. In the coming years—maybe twenty—he’ll die. And leadership of this base will fall on someone.” I shrug lightly. “I doubt you want my silly, bratty brother in charge. Which leaves me. There’s a reason I’m called the golden chick.
