Then he smirked again. “Then let’s see what you’ve got.” My heart jumped, not from fear this time, but from pride. I stayed close behind Zarek as we entered the loading zone. Zade was already there, speaking in hushed tones to one of the men handling the shipment. Big black crates lined the room. I didn’t ask what was inside. I didn’t want to know.
