Third Person's POV After returning to Newmont, Lorenzo did something he should have done a long time ago. He went to see a psychologist. It wasn't because he was depressed, but because he wanted to figure out one thing—how had he become like that? How could one person be so cruel to another? The psychologist was an old man in his 60s, with gray hair and gold-rimmed glasses. He spoke slowly and deliberately. "Do you think you ever loved Sofia?" the psychologist asked.

Rebecca was just a small-time nurse with big dreams back then. When we became an item, she shared her ambition to be a CEO. To make it happen, I tapped into my family's wealth and connections, investing in her future. I even drank myself to a bleeding ulcer to clinch a deal for her. She would look at me with those same eyes, tears in her gaze as she squeezed my hand, promising a lifetime of love forever. However, who could have known her promise of forever would last only five years? The irony stung. I could not hold back my question.

Later on, in order to carry on his family line, he even forced his younger brother on Vivian. Vivian tried to escape multiple times, but she was always brought back to him each and every time, even if she fled to her grandparents. Her grandparents said, "What woman hasn't experienced this sort of thing? You're the one who was a disgrace who couldn't even finish university, so what can you do other than give birth?" One rainy night, Vivian finally managed to flee, and ended up going to Horace. "Horace, save me! I don't want to go back to that hellish place. They're treating me as nothing more than a baby-making machine! I'll die there!"

He didn't need to know more about that stuff. ‎She thought she could manage not to tell his family what she was going through. She thought she could live with it. But she can't and she wanted to live in peace so she told the truth to her parents that she and her husband had separated. She doesn't want to cry every night. She wanted to share the pain with her loved ones because she knew that only in that way would her problem will slowly fade. And that's true. because after she said those things she was there ‎decided to leave the country and change her life.
