I breathe off, respiring, pouring off, my built up frustration, laying down my choked up throat. “Get a grip” I murmured to my senses, my heart failing to realise, it has never been okay for quite some time, but my brains had forced me to believe it. My knees bow, feeling the weight crashing upon my shoulders. My head gave way, feeling the trauma once more. I crash my face into my palm, with eyes stinging, but I refuse to shed tears. It is far gone, I shouldn't feel like shit. They acted right, I shouldn't be like this. He never was really there, why does my heart rip apart?

“You feel cut off from everyone. Like you’re behind glass, banging on it, but no one can hear you.” My hands shook as I lifted them to sign, “I hate it. I hate not being able to say what I’m feeling. I hate needing people to guess.” Luca watched me for a long moment. His gaze was steady, warm. Unjudging. “You know,” he said softly, “power doesn’t come from a voice. It doesn’t come from how loud you can scream or how many people hear you. It comes from here.” He tapped his chest with two fingers. “It comes from your heart. Your spirit. Your will. This is the worst shit that could've ever happened to me. Hell, I think I'm having a heart attack. Hearts can't beat the way mine is now.
