Novel & Cerita Txt Chicago

Carter stood on the balcony of her friend's apartment, overlooking the sprawling cityscape of Chicago. The city lights twinkled below, casting an ethereal glow over the streets. It was a sight that never failed to captivate her, reminding her of the vibrant energy that pulsed through the city day and night.

"It's three pages and it is — if I may say — rather elegant." "I don't doubt it," I said. I hung up. I stood at the window. The city below was waking — the ordinary beautiful machinery of a Chicago morning assembling itself piece by piece. A woman with a stroller. A man in a hard hat. A yellow cab making the turn onto Lincoln with the unhurried confidence of a vehicle that had made that turn ten thousand times. My phone buzzed. A text from an unknown number — not the Denver area code, not the contact who had closed the circle. A Chicago number I had never seen.

I have not been to Merced for almost 6 months. The last time I had been there was during Amber's birthday. Claire couldn't come because she was visiting her cousin in Chicago. My phone rings. Amber's name is flashing on the screen. I turn the music's volume down and turn on the speaker of my phone. "Where are you?" she asks from the other side. "I will be there in 10 minutes" I tell her and hang up.

It is actually faster than trying to drive, as I get dropped off right in front of the building and don’t to take the two-block hike from the parking garage. As I approached the street to get a taxi, I spotted the back of someone who looked familiar. The person looked just like Jake. I attempted to approach the person, but they were moving away from me and I got caught up in the crowd. There are over two million people in Chicago. I doubted that it was Jake, but the resemblance was eerie. As I sat down in the taxi, my phone buzzed. It was a text from Jake. Jake: Just heading out now. I am going to stop by that store by your house and will be there shortly.
