Neither mentioned it. “That wasn’t that scary,” Tae Min said casually. “You’re lying.” They laughed. But as they exited the theater— Tae Min felt something strange. Like they were being watched. He turned slightly. A familiar figure disappeared behind a pillar. His chest tightened. No… it couldn’t be. He didn’t say anything.

A weak, flickering flame, but alive all the same. Leona wiped her face with the back of her hand and pushed herself up from the ground. Her knees wobbled, but she stood. She would not stay down. Not for them. Not for anyone. She pressed a hand against her stomach, the emptiness sharp, then lowered it again, her jaw tight. “No more,” she whispered to herself. “They won’t see me broken. Not again.” Behind her, the Private investigator  shifted his weight, his voice low. “You need a ride? I can call someone.”

The news flickered on. Specials Break Peace The screen flashed below the anchor woman. Specials break peace I read to myself again. “Turn it up Micheal” I ordered. He rolled his eyes but obliged. “Peace has been held for 15 years and today an extremely dangerous special broke it. We are unaware what caused the incident to spark. Soldiers were deployed to Barker Street. Officials have not yet released the number of killed or injured, but we can tell from footage it is a large number. We are estimating at least 50”

"But... I'm broken and messed up and have pieces of me all over the place. That's not something anybody should have to deal with, Noah." I shrugged softly, "I don't care, Tiffany. I want you and if that comes with pieces all over the place then I'm okay with it. You don't get it," I chuckled softly, moving the hand that was cupping her face back to her hands to hold them gently in mine. "I can't unlove you. I can't forget the feeling of holding you when you sleep next to me. I can't forget how your eyes would get a bit bigger every time something surprising would happen in Prison Break. I can't forget the dreadful look on your face every time you walk in to math class, wanting it to be over

“And it looks like you’re doing that, so…” “You leaving is what hurt me!” I seethe, anger sinking its claws deeper into me at his pathetic justification for his actions. “And I’m not damaged, Callum, I’m broken! You broke me!” My voice cracks, my chest heaving as I shake my head, fresh tears springing to my eyes. My gaze flutters down to the pavement, my voice dropping to barely a whisper. “You broke me in ways that I didn’t even know were possible.” Callum’s throat clicks with a hard swallow, his shoes scuffing against the ground as he steps closer. “Ness…”
