All wrong. When I woke up this morning, I noticed it immediately—the dark brown strands had lightened somehow, showing hints of silver at the roots. Not gray from stress, but actual silver, like moonlight woven into hair. It had to be the dye job washing out. But it still freaked me out seeing it. I'd spent the last hour applying the dye Anna had procured for me, desperately trying to cover the strange new color. I queried further not leaving him any room for assumptions in case he was one of those on the trail of the muse I hid in my cottage. "You have very beautiful hair color already but it's fine. The lady selling advised me. "Why?" "Dyes differ for short and long hair and for male and female too." She added guiding my choice even more. Every few years, the darkies, as Dante called them, would shave my head to degrade me, but that was okay because my hair would have been far too long after all that time. He noted her fair skin, pink mouth, and light sprinkling of freckles across her pert nose. The name suited her. Her soft, brown hair looked dyed. Interesting. Why would a lovely young woman hide her true hair color? One thing was certain. ANDV was a poor substitute for the real thing. "That's it, bitch! We're coming in."
