It will be interesting, but I doubt that it will be fun. Haakon greets me with a friendly smile. The pony that I tended too on my arrival is in a nearby paddock and trots over to the fence. I move to the wooden railing and stroke my hand along her neck. I will not cry. I will not allow myself to cry. I have been unwanted my entire life. This is no different. After giving myself a moment to come to terms with not being wanted, once again, I resume my daily chores. I remain busy for the rest of the day and again avoid both men. Ignoring the dragons is harder since I have a connection with one that both are using.

I don't need that pain. "How do you know he'll reject you? He may be exactly what you need to put some of this behind you." Raven lectures me. She does this a lot when I think about the possibility of a mate. She's worried I'll be so scared of being unwanted that I'll reject him, so he doesn't have the chance to reject me first. I have thought about it, but I honestly don't know how I will react until the time comes.

I'm losing concentration. I try to remind myself why I can't want Chase or even think about him. He's not my kind of man. If I want to give a relationship a second chance it should be with someone like Anderson. He's older, hard working, good looking, sweet. He's everything every woman would want. But every passing day I just can't help myself but think about Chase. How I wished I could have him again. I want Chase to be mine and only mine. And staring at his date as he gives her the gentlest smile, I just wished I was the one. I shake my head at how fucked up I've become because of a man I can't have. I remind myself for the gazillionth time Chase is a man I can't have. It's time to let him
