Claimed Raw by my Husband's Ruthless Best friend
I couldn’t let him see me weak, see the cracks.
I reached for the wine bottle on the nightstand. My hands shook bad, glass clinking loud against the rim as I poured, red liquid splashing a little on the table. It swirled dark in the glass, deep as blood. I drank it in one long gulp. It burned fiery down my throat, warm bloom in my empty stomach.
I then set the glass down hard, thud echoing in the room. Fingers scraped together, nails digging into my palms until they bit skin.
