"If they want the harvest, they’re getting the rot too!" I slammed my hand onto the final page. The journal didn't glow; it screamed. A pulse of necrotic, purple energy erupted from the book, traveling along the ground and climbing the pillar of light like a vine of thorns. The Ancient let out a sound that wasn't a scream it was a glitch. Her golden eyes turned a fractured, digital grey. The baby in her arms began to glow with that same toxic purple. "What have you done?" the woman hissed, her form flickering between the white-haired rebel and the golden goddess. "You've tainted the heir! You've ruined the strain!"

Then, with a soft, mechanical whir, the light turned a steady, glowing green. The lock clicked open. Serena’s hands shook as she lifted the heavy steel lid. Resting inside was a thick, leather-bound book, the legendary, encrypted ledger. Beside it lay a high-tech, military-grade USB drive. Her heart hammered against her ribs, a wild mix of triumph and devastating guilt washing over her. She held Victor’s entire life, his entire empire, in the palms of her hands. If she walked out of this room with it, she was officially betraying the only man who had ever made her feel safe. But if she didn't, Sarah’s blood would be on her hands.

A rich, sweet scent of vanilla and expensive silk drifted into the air. Resting inside, nestled in layers of black tissue paper, was a piece of lingerie. But it wasn't just any lingerie. It was a sheer, crimson lace bodysuit. It was completely backless, with a dangerously low-cut front that would leave absolutely nothing to the imagination. My breath caught in my throat. My face burned with instant heat. Tucked into the side of the box was a small, heavy card. I opened it, my eyes widening as I read the neat handwriting:

The touch of unseen hands upon its surface sends a thrill coursing through the air as if stirring an ancient power. The title on the book's spine, written in elegant yet cryptic calligraphy, reads "Lumina Aeternus," translating to "Eternal Light." The words seem to glow with a soft, celestial radiance as if they hold the key to unlocking a universe of wonder and possibility. However, it wasn't the beauty of the book that lured and captivated her attention, rather it was the familiarity of it. She was certain she had come across the book before as a child. It was a book that fascinated her as a child, yet was never permitted to touch it.

ANYA I felt as if the ground beneath me had crumbled. Staggering backwards, I stopped breathing for a moment. Vincenzo's hands reached out to steady me, but my attention remained fixed on my uncle. This couldn't be real; he must be lying. My parents were my real parents, this couldn't be true. “You can lie to yourself by choosing not to believe it, but the truth won't change,” he sneered, his words laced with venom. “You are not a Chirkov, not by blood or any measure. You don't even have our blood running through your veins.”

I reached out and delicately retrieved it from the shelf, cradling it in my hands. A surge of anticipation coursed through my veins as I opened the book, its pages pristine and unmarred. The words within held the promise of hidden truths, a key to unlock the enigma that had consumed my thoughts. I read the title embossed in elegant lettering: "Tears of the Moon: Secrets Untold." My heart raced with excitement as I turned to the first page. The words danced before my eyes, weaving a narrative of forbidden knowledge and clandestine affairs. It spoke of a world beyond the ordinary, a realm where ancient forces converged and hidden battles waged under the pale light of the moon.
