Vault 101 Novels & Stories

Hazel sighed dreamily, not noticing the glares she received from both Aycin and Deagan. “No, the hell you would!” Aycin burst, snapping his girlfriend from her daze. “Who’s Alaster?” Madelyn asked curiously, but before Aria could answer, Hazel shot up. “I’ll show you.” She fumbled, searching for something on her phone before showing it to Madelyn and Amaya. “Hot damn!” Amaya’s eyes widened while Madelyn bit her lip in appreciation. “That ladies, is Alaster Victor, one of London’s finest defence attorneys.” Hazel gloated, enjoying their reactions, “You should see him in person.”

Jévon Ward. Oh, we were going to have fucking words the next time I saw him. If he thought, I was just some cheap hump-and-dump he had another thing comin— WOAH! "So, uh, we're here?" There was an impressive collection of security deposits with a large vault door bigger than a hill giant smack dab in the middle. The room was lit with torches as opposed to the electrical lights in the rest of the building. The air musty quality of the air, plus the limestone stalactites dripping down from the roof, made this feel less like a vault and more like some vampire's cave tomb. "It should be in box bHX40030. Just uh give me a moment to get up there."

He led her toward a small, reinforced steel door at the base of the structure, where two men in tactical gear stood guard, their faces masked and their weapons held at the ready. "Welcome to Vault 77-B-Delta, Verina," the driver said, pushing her into a high-speed industrial lift that smelled of wet concrete and ozone. "The world thinks the Vane energy codes are digital, they think they are hidden in servers and encrypted clouds, but the real power of this city is biological. It’s in the marrow, it's in the lineage, and today, you are going to pay the debt your father tried to run away from."

‎ ‎"Three levels of underground storage. Level 1 is safety deposit boxes. Level 2 is the gold reserve. And Level 3... is the Private Collection." ‎ ‎"It's a thermal-sealed vault," Titus explained. He had worked security for a brief stint before his exile. "Retinal scanners. Weight sensors in the floor. And the walls are lined with silver alloy to prevent shifting." ‎ ‎"So we can't wolf out," I said, studying the map. "We have to go in as humans." ‎ ‎"Humans with guns," Torian suggested, sharpening his knife. ‎ ‎"No," Kaelen said. "If we trip an alarm, the vault seals automatically. It pumps out the oxygen and locks down for forty-eight hours. We'd suffocate before we got the door open."

“But it requires authentication, keys, and in normal times, an approval chain. We need to see who physically touched the system. Which is why we need the offsite vault — to get immutable, physical copies.” The convoy arrived at the Kingstone offsite vault under a curious, driving rain. The vault building was a squat, secure block on an industrial stretch, cameras blinking in a bored rhythm. Security met them with guarded eyes; Damian’s ID opened the main door after a few tense moments. Inside the vault, rows of metal drawers waited like silent witnesses.

I dove for the central terminal, slamming the Glass Ledger shard into the primary port. "Accessing Second Cipher," I screamed at the console. "Override code: LULLABY-GHOST!" The vault began to shake. The liquid coolant in the servers began to boil, the monitors flashing a violent, blinding gold. Suddenly, the vault doors didn't just open—they exploded. A flash-bang grenade skittered across the floor, detonating in a roar of white light and deafening noise. Through the smoke, a figure moved with the precision of a reaper.

Nyla said. "Since the day I ran," Marcus said. "I have been ready since the day I ran." --- The access protocol took Dominique twenty minutes to walk them through. The vault's twenty-second window reset every twenty-four hours at the same time — midnight GMT. All three keys had to be submitted simultaneously through the vault's access portal, held on a server that Dominique had the address for. The submissions had to come from three different IP addresses. The window began the moment the first key was entered and ran for exactly twenty seconds. If all three weren't in by then, the attempt failed and the window reset to the following day.

Isabella felt the pressure closing in from every direction. Her mother’s life. Alexander’s risk. The vault beneath her feet. The network hangs in balance. Then the floor beneath them shifted. A deep mechanical sound echoed upward. The center tiles began sliding apart. Revealing a steel chamber below. Lit. Waiting. Final vault access point. Her phone vibrated one last time. Authorization required. Biometric confirmation. Hale looked at her calmly. Now. Alexander stepped toward her slowly. If you activate that vault he said quietly. You do not just reset power.

Kaelen nodded, reaching into his uniform pocket and pulling out a small, ancient stone amulet carved with the matching runes of the vault. "The vault doors are biologically keyed to open with a royal or high ranked blood, which you have just provided. But the lunar Catalyst inside is heavily volatile. The moment a wolfless, suppressed body touches it, the raw magic will trigger a concussive shockwave. If the seal isn't stabilized by this anchoring amulet, the blast will collapse these tunnels, and alert every Council scout within five miles of the Academy grounds." He held the amulet out toward Aiden, it felt like a complete surrender of power from a warrior to his master.

Zurich, Midnight, Entrance to Vault Zero It looked like a simple underground garage carved into the Alps, but beneath it lay one of Lucien's earliest creations: Vault Zero. A 10-floor cybernetic crypt built by ex-Mossad engineers and former MIT rejects. Accessible only with two things, Lucien’s biometric clearance and the voice command of his successor. Ezra had both. They reached the reinforced vault door, its matte-black metal unmarred by age. Petra activated the scanner. “Scan initialized. Identity required.” Ezra stepped forward, placing his palm on the pad. A cold laser traced his retina. “Ezra Lucien Vireaux. Clearance: Alpha Prime. Voice command required.”
