I learned to be thankful and quiet. That acceptance made me hate Christmas. Love songs made my skin crawl. The lights under our tree looked like glass eyes. The ribbons on the presents were traps. Every year, the house tuned itself to cheer and I pretended to enjoy it. The twenty-fifth became the night when a new kind of cold touched my bones. It was the day the truth had crawled out at me like an animal. It was the day I had learned how much of my life had been decided by other hands.

Vicky added in a sultry tone. Just as I was about to pull her into another kiss and possibly drag her off to my room, Tori came back. She was wearing her black two-piece bikini with a towel wrapped around her waist. Her hair was neatly brushed and pulled into a ponytail and her glasses were perched on her nose again, giving her a sexy nerd look. My sisters eyesight wasn't terrible, but she almost always wore her glasses when going outside, especially when she was driving. "Ready to go?" Tori asked us both.

I softly laughed and patted her head. "Thanks little sis." I pinched her cheeks again and turned to look at Victor, who's pouting now. "Seems like Tori won today, Rori." He sighed, gave back Tori's gems, and added some of his own. I passed by them but stopped when they asked. "Is it true that you've found your heart, brother?" Tori excitedly asked. I slightly looked back, flashed a smile at them, and nodded.

This idea was unbelieveable. "Tori, are you sure about your choice?" An unexpected question came out of him. "What do you mean? If I weren't sure, then I wouldn't have gone this far. I'm already crazy enough to accept the offer." Gustav shook his head and asked once more. "Tori, this is your marriage, your future life. Are you willing to sacrifice it for revenge?" That time, it was Victoria's turn to remain silent for a few seconds. Then and now, her anger had not disappeared for a second. She was now at the point where she no longer cared about her future or even the Agriche family. All she wanted was revenge.
