Once inside, the oppressive weight of the wards lessened, though the hallways beyond offered no comfort. The interior was a labyrinth of polished steel and flickering lights, every corner lined with cameras that blinked red like unblinking eyes. Posters lined the walls - wanted sketches of wolves, witches, and hybrids, their faces marked with black crosses. Evangeline paused when she saw one of Xander, his likeness scrawled in cold detail, the words CRIMINAL - ALPHA THREAT stamped beneath in bold. Her breath caught, but she forced her hands to still. “He’s here.”

A villain with a glass of apple juice in his hands—instead of a throat-grating shot of scotch, or a bowl of fresh human blood. A villain, especially one with a hefty goal should have black as his ensemble. Not multicolored boxer shorts and flip flops. He was supposed to be in his chambers, peering at the mind maps he'd drafted. Not basking in the mild Tuscan sun. A villain that likened himself to the devil should have his lips stretched in a grim line as he went through his loan over and over and over again. He definitely shouldn't be grinding lips with a scantily clad lady.

I stumbled into the path of a fucking villain. Well, calling it a squad back then was generous. It was just Regis and a silent Class A Beta who looked like he wanted to be anywhere else in the world. I remembered crawling through the high itchy grass, bruised and bleeding, only to look up and see Regis leaning against a thick oak tree, a wicked, lazy smirk on his face. He didn't help me. “Yet she still flinches.” Zara turned slowly as Victor Vale stepped into view. Immaculate. Poised. Deadly. His obsidian suit clung like shadow. A silver tie pin in the shape of a fang gleamed at his throat. His smile was razor-thin. Victor Vale. Brother. Challenger. Viper in a tailored coat. “Little brother,” he said, sounding pleased, “you’ve made quite the show of things lately. Fires. Announcements. Marking ceremonies in the middle of old courts. Bold.”

Pulling Koishi closer than before, leaning down over the nape of his neck, feeling his nose brushing against his shirt. The Villain just takes his step back, turning his gaze towards Koishi who's cheeks are turning red. Shit. I looked at my face in the mirror. I still flinch everytime I see these beautiful features. The appearance of this face is so damn beautiful. And I'm a fool who doesn't use Fuschia’s beauty properly. Too bad though. Even in my previous life, I couldn't get a face like this even though I go through plastic surgery many times. A faint, thrilling heat began to uncoil in her stomach. "If your son knew his father was sleeping with the woman he loves, I imagine he'd be quite horrified," Nicha sneered.
