~ALINA’S POV~ I slipped into the car, the door closing softly behind me as Valentino rounded the hood and climbed into the driver’s seat. He didn’t speak at first. He just started the engine, and the MC20 purred to life like a beast. Frank Sinatra’s “Fly Me to the Moon” hummed low through the speakers. It was dark out, the kind of soft, hazy Toronto night where the streetlights looked like gold dust smeared across black silk.

Ava’s brow furrowed as doubt clouded her mind. How had Valentina known she would be at Maison Marseille tonight? And hadn’t Valentina been unwell? Why had she been discharged from the hospital so quickly? Outside the towering building, Valentina leaned against a sleek Lamborghini worth five million dollars—one that her father, Alfonso, had bought for her. The sports car gleamed under the city lights, a statement of wealth and indulgence. Alfonso had repeatedly told Valentina not to drive alone and had even offered to assign her a driver. But Valentina often ignored his advice, opting to discreetly track a man she was infatuated with, as though her persistence would one day earn his attention

Tyler said. "Hop in," Tyler said and Valerie entered into the car and so did Tyler and they drove off to a car dealership to get a car. Tyler bought a white Bugatti Dovo for Valerie and even the plate number wasn't even on it yet. "This is very expensive," Valerie said. "Oh please. All my birthdays I've been gifted with pure gold necklaces and earrings that cost more than this limited car and yet I've only given you bags and shoes that are not even half the price of this car," Tyler said.

His phone vibrates and my eyes find their way to the screen. " Brother “ Valentino has a brother?

"Yow!" Val greeted her caller on the phone with a hippy mood. "When are you coming?" Asked Chanu sounding impatient. "Ahhh... mmmm..." Val intentionally prolonged her answer as she was calculating her time. "Am right here." A swishing sound of the wind covered the whole place as an eternal Blue colored Mazda MX-5 racecar halted right next to him. The distance was too precise of a ruler length next to his feet. "As always," Khanu walked over to open her car door and lead her out of her car.

Valentino was lying on the rooftop of the packhouse in a long-sleeved white shirt and a white thong, drowning himself in one hundred percent alcohol. It has been two weeks since the incident and he was still not over what happened to him. “Valentino?” someone called out to him. Turning his head to the right, he said, “Fuck off, Grayson, what more do you want from me?” Grayson sat down beside Valentino. With a sheepish smile he said, “You should not be drinking such strong wine, you will die.”

On our fourth Valentine's Day together, my boyfriend, Ivan West, gave me a rock he had found on the side of the road while his true love, Kelly Gibson, got a ten-carat diamond. I stared at the rock icily and left it right where it was. Ivan called me materialistic. "Millia, I only gave Kelly a diamond because she needed it to make jewelry. It's not because we have some other kind of relationship. And besides, I've spent plenty on you before. Just because I didn't get you some fancy branded things this time, you refused it. You're way too materialistic."

"Look at it closely." Valerie bent over and looked at it. "Oh okay, so there's a 'V' on top and a 'W' at the bottom. Is that supposed to mean something?" Julian asked in exasperation, "Do you not know what car this is?" Valerie nodded. "I see lots of people driving this around. It probably isn't that expensive." "Remember this, Valerie. This is a Volkswagen Phaeton." Valerie nodded. "Is this more expensive than my husband's Black Badge?"

Matteo Valentino ~•~ "How would this work anyway?" Cassandra asked, stepping into the vehicle. She looked absolutely breathtaking with a red satin dress wrapped around her body and pearls hanging down her ears. She looked delectable. I took the present in her hand and placed it beside me before placing a kiss on the corner of her red-painted lips.

The air softens and people start moving again and organizing. When the crowd thins, only a few remain—Kael, Roman, Zeke, me… and one man I haven’t seen before. He’s tall. Too tall, honestly. His eyes are a beautiful violet shade, his skin pale but not sickly. There’s something quietly dangerous about him, like the air freezes a little when he moves. Kael gestures toward him. “This is Valen Cross,” he says. “General of the vampire fighters.” Vampire. He's a vampire. He's...just what I imagined a vampire to look like. Sinfully beautiful, but dark and...cold.
