Ripples ran through the room—shifts in posture, sharp breaths, quick flickers of exchanged glances.
One of the older captains, Brann, cleared his throat. “It wasn’t just the bond flaring, my lord. She carried it. The sword, the storm… it answered her.” His jaw tightened. “Half the pack saw. They’re already whispering.”
“Whispering?” The Alpha’s voice was quiet, but it cut sharper than a blade.
Brann swallowed. “Some call it a blessing. That the Moon herself chose her hand. Others…” His gaze slid to the table. “Others fear it. They say her bond is too wild. That it’ll tear us apart.”
