Regal’s gaze moved over Ryan, then to Trevor, and finally to me.
His eyes lingered a fraction longer on me.
“So,” he said at last, his voice low and cutting through the air like steel, “this is the direwolf.”
I resisted the urge to shrink under his scrutiny. Instead, I took a step forward and met his gaze. “Elena of the Star Raider Pack.”
The air seemed to tighten. A long silence followed before Regal nodded once. “Sit.”
We took our places across from them. No smiles. No pleasantries. The kind of meeting where alliances were forged in fire or shattered in frost.
