Wolf Moon - Queen of the Hidden Claw
The smile fades.
The scene dissolves. Water closes over her head.
It is cold and vast and endless, but she does not panic. Her lungs burn, yet do not fail. Light filters down from above in fractured ribbons, and something passes through them—graceful, silver, otherworldly. A tail flicks. A hand reaches. Webbed fingers brush her wrist, leaving a chill that feels almost like reassurance. She turns, trying to follow, but the water folds in on itself and the shape is gone. She surfaces without breaking.
