I have seen Soleil jump around in the same way, but the speed and agility of the red-haired witch is superior to my girlfriend. I slip on the wet forest floor as I dig my claws in to slow down and turn around. I do not get any further. Three water balls slam against my body and shatter in the fur. "Bang! Then you're dead too !" Fuck ! I shake off the water and growl. A warning snort comes from the right. A large wolf with dark brown fur and a gap full of bared teeth steps between us. Alec's gaze raked down Pearl's body while the three gigantic werewolves howled in unison, Alec smirked at Pearl and bit his lips, not at all interested in the three pacing wolves at her feet. "I somehow doubt that very much." Neon, smooth locks fell into his eyes as he took a step closer to inspect her as if she was the thing he wanted to buy. Low and menacing growls filled the air between them, and his gaze finally fell on the scarlet giant wolf who was standing protectively in front of her. "He’s cute," Alec muttered with a nod to Red. Magical fire erupted from the wolf’s snout, and he clenched his jaw shut with an abrupt and angry snapping sound.

But instead of old stories from my grandmother’s life, the pages were scrawled with strange symbols and sketches—shorthand in her handwriting explaining the purpose of different runes and sigils. Flipping through the pages, there were sketches of wolves, and the last page that she’d written in had a detailed rendition of a nightmarish wolf-beast that made my blood run cold at the sight of it, it’s eyes smudged over with charcoal in the shape of a protective rune. My heart raced when I realized what I was holding. This was no ordinary journal, it was a spell book.

Somehow the desire and need still hadn’t left his eyes. I signed, turning back to the now drained mojito. Apparently I’d finished it and not even noticed. This shouldn’t have happened. With humans, yes, it was possible that one bite could lead to desire and in extreme cases, obsession. Con of being a succubus. But it had never happened with another werewolf before. Is it possible what he felt was genuine? Maybe. Who really knew? It’s not like there were loads of other wolf-succubuses around to talk to.
