A long tongue slid over its long teeth and its cat-like ears that poked out from the partially exposed skull twitched. As if half its head wasn't skinless, but a full flesh covered

Rows and rows of yellow warped teeth greeted them in anger. The narrow pupils eyed them with suspicion and contempt. Aurelia knelt next to the crate and grabbed the flint and steel. A sketch catches my eye, and my breath stutters. The creature on the page has the sections of bone jutting through its skull and shoulders, drawn in sharp, jagged lines. Its eyes are illustrated as glowing red orbs, and its mouth is filled with long, protruding fangs, exactly like the ones that snapped inches from my face. Each hand is sketched with three elongated, razor-sharp claws, curved like sickles. It looks almost exactly like the thing that attacked me. Almost. It is not canine-shaped like the one we encountered. This one has long legs and looks more like a human-size creature and shape.
