It had the shadow of a wolf, but its limbs were made of the same silver liquid as Julian’s eyes. It didn't have a face, just a vertical slit of violet light that bled static into the air. "Kael?" I stepped forward, the dagger held low.

But damn, he’s got the aura of death down. His body is painted entirely robin’s-egg blue, except his face—which is matte black. He carries a blue snake, and wears a massive hummingbird skull mask that shadows his glowing eyes. His nose is blunt, his mouth flat, and his ears are pierced with large gauges. He’s shirtless, too, but wears an enormous collar made of gold, cloth, and beads, and a loincloth held in place by a gold belt. Feathers sprout from one leg, and he’s barefoot.

She's like no omega I've ever seen. Her hair is blonde, so light it's almost white. But it is not long and flowing like the women of our people. Instead, her hair is cut short like a boy's and shows off the delicate, perfect shape of her skull. His blue eyes, set above his lightly freckled cheeks, are squinting against the light. But his face shows no sign of fear. Anxiety, maybe. Concern. But not afraid.

I crouch down, scanning the creature's body. There is no definite shape, but it lacks the usual intensity of a normal Shifter. Instead of the glare of a monster, its eyes contain the darkness of an inner turmoil. We continue to stare into each other's eyes, I can't seem to pull away.

Adding to that were the mans clothes and short black hair, contrasting to her overly white skin.

The seam continued up between his brows and then ran a crooked pattern to disappear beneath the hood. They called it a cleft palate but she'd never seen one so bad. The two halves of his face had seemed to shift; the bone structure beneath the flesh, causing his face to sink in slightly, gave him a gorilla–like appearance. He also had no color. He was as white as an albino. His grey eyes were fringed in reddish lashes that looked almost non-existent. His upper lip seemed to have three distinct sections that she couldn't quite understand. He was by far the scariest looking man she'd ever seen.

Just as I turned around, a sudden, powerful force tore through the air. A tiny body slammed hard straight into my legs. The momentum knocked me back two steps, and I almost wiped out. The dim neon streetlights shone down, lighting up the culprit—a werewolf cub who looked barely five or six years old. He was gorgeous, looking like a little angel stepped right out of an oil painting. His soft blonde hair was a bit messy, and beneath his long eyelashes were a pair of eyes as striking as top-tier sapphires. But his face was terrifyingly pale, and his lips were completely bloodless.

“Yup,” Knox says without looking up. I reach out, fingers brushing the smooth head sticking out of the packaging. It’s foam. Dense and thick with sculpted features. The head is oval, with bulbous black eyes and a tiny slit for a mouth. “What’s beneath it?” I ask, looking down. He’s already begun tearing downward, slicing open the rest of the wrapping. What emerges is…well. A body.

Around his face and on his head was an ornate headpiece, covering his jaw and fanning out over his head almost like a crown. "That little particles weren't ashes, but the powdered form of corpses…" the man spoke. "Your Doll was in the middle of this forest, but CorpseBoy won't let you pass through." The anger can be seen on Lucas' face, closing their fists in the motion as he stared at this strange man. Most notably though, this man didn't have any human face. Instead, his body seemed to be that of a skeleton, with him possessing no nose, eyes, or skin. What on Earth was he?
