“Drink up. We have the whole day to ourselves while your mom runs some errands for work. Plenty of time to… bond.” Mom kissed my cheek on her way out. “I’ll be back by dinner. You two get to know each other better now that we’re officially a family. I love you both.” The door clicked shut behind her. The second she was gone, Marcus was on me like a predator. He pushed me against the kitchen counter, his mouth hot and demanding on my neck. “Finally,” he growled, hands already yanking my sweatpants down. “My wife is gone and I get my stepson all to myself for hours. Fuck, I’ve been hard since I woke up thinking about this.”

I whispered to her and she replied with a small nod before I took the next step further away, leading the boys away through the fading crowd. "Wait, Seriously?" Josh questioned as he briefly halted in his steps and caused all of us to halt as well. "What is it this time Josh?" Mason questioned dryly in response. "We didn't get to meet Princess Sunshine" He blurted out and I could hear the whole four of them chuckle around me while only a small smile made its way to my face.

But she stopped herself and refrained from doing so. "You take the one on the right. I'll take the one on the left. We have to make sure they don't get away. The boys will surround the area to make sure they don't get far," Melissa said to me. I nodded my head at her and waited for her to give the signal to attack. When she started to creep forwards, I did too. We moved at the same time, leaping out from our hiding spots. My heart pounded and I sprinted towards the moose who was suddenly aware of our presence. But before I could leap onto its back, I heard a gunshot.

The sun was long gone below the horizon when two black SUVs inconspicuously pulled along the side of a dirt road a few miles away from I-49, still a good mile’s walk from their final destination but far enough away not to attract any unwanted attention from the residents of SouthWest Moe’s RV Park and Campground. Cadence had wondered if Moe was just a clever take on the abbreviation for the state of Missouri until she saw the website and realized the owner was an older fellow by the name of Moe Wilson whose parents may have had an affinity for slapstick and eye-poking. She wondered if he had any brothers named Larry or Curly.

The scent of deer and moose came quickly to her and she changed directions. She began to pick up the pace until she slowly came to a stop and crouched down. "There are moose behind those trees," I suddenly heard. I almost let out a yelp because I forgot Titus could now mind link with me. "Yeah I know she senses them," I reply. Titus' wolf gave my wolf a nudge to tell her to go for it. She dashes quickly in and out of trees and dug her claws into its back. She fell to the ground and it's antlers hit her in the side. She let out a large growl and dug her teeth in its leg. Its front legs buckled and she dug her teeth into its neck and tore it out. It went limp and fell in front of her.

Moe excused himself. He wanted to say no and prevent him from leaving him alone with the two but he noticed that Moe was only wearing swimming trunks and robes. They booked a room to keep their stuff safe in their suite and enjoy their fun time at the pool. What he didn’t know was that he would see Boone and Stephanie in the resort too. Wondering if it’s just a coincidence that they are here or it was all planned to spend their date in the resort too knowing that he’s here.

My embarrassment turns into anger and I’m about to snap at him when Roman steps forwards and hands him a one hundred dollar bill, “Enough, man” Moose pockets the note and turns around immediately walking towards the abandoned bottle most likely to resume the game. She slashed and bit until the moose was sufficiently weakened. Without a second to spare, she plunged her claws into its chest and pulled its pulsing heart out of its chest. She slammed her entire bodyweight into it. The large mammal toppled over and crashed into the snow, splattering its blood and darkening the unsullied white earth.
