I presume they'll get a clue eventually, that he won't say anything. I decide to go home right after. Dad's out of the country and mom's at work but I manage to keep myself company throughout the day. And then midnight comes... 'Please come out.' The text catches me off guard so much that I just stare at it for a while before my brain finally registers what it says. I don't waste time running out because the man hates waiting with a passion. It's not the first time he's coming to my house. He's been here a few times... to drop me off. However, it's the first time he just stops by like this. So my shock is justified.

I laughed, shaking my head as they sped on, whooping and hollering as they leaned out the windows, obviously enjoying their new freedom, too. I shook my head, smiling as heat filled my cheeks at having been busted, but it felt good to hear. A moment later, the song ended and Garth Brooks’ If Tomorrow Never Comes came on the radio and I started singing along. It was a sad song, but had such a great message, that if he were to pass away, would the love he gave her be enough to last the rest of her life.

He turned and left without another look back. Ivory waited for him through the night, but he never came back. The iciness of the water seeped into her bones, yet the aphrodisiac was still eating away at her from inside. She felt like countless ants were gnawing at her body. The water's iciness couldn't get rid of the heat inside her—it could only temporarily keep her lucid. She was burning inside, yet she was freezing on the outside. She was trapped between fire and ice.

And if she couldn't, how could I? Maybe one day she'd find peace. But that wasn't my story anymore. Stella—she was gone, but not really. She was up there now, a star I'd never lose. Every time I looked up, I'd find her. Those memories? They'd carry me. I'd miss her forever. I'd look after the ones she left behind—my folks, Kylie's too. I'd keep going. And maybe—if the universe was kind— I'd hear that little voice again someday.

"When I arrived, I saw him crouching outside your room, crying. The nurse told me that whenever you're asleep, he always comes in to see you, sobbing and smiling at the same time." However, what they didn't know was that I hadn't slept in a long time. The morphine wasn't working anymore. The agonizing pain made me wish I was dead. Every time I closed my eyes, the only thing that comforted me was the memories of the past. I didn't really understand why Bree was telling me this. Nonetheless, she just stared at me and said seriously, "I'm scared that you'll regret this." Shaking my head, I told her not to worry and asked her to continue.

"Oh, right. Sorry, I just didn't remember you at first." Brandon Smith was someone I knew from college. We did not really hang out much. He had zero contact with Charles, so I had nothing to worry about. "Why are you here? Do you go to college here too?" I asked. Brandon grinned, his eyes twinkling. "I'm a researcher at this college." "Wow, that's cool," I said. "It's so unexpected to see you again. I thought I'd never find you after you got married and then just vanished. I tried to find out what happened to you, but there was no luck."

They never left me alone my entire life even for a second and all of sudden they just died. I went into depression and it took so many consultants to coax me into accepting that they are never gonna come back. Slowly but gradually I started accepting it. It took so much work from my nana to make me feel alive again. But everything turned devastating the moment the two of the most cruel people I ever met came into my life. They made my life a living hell. They killed nanna in front of my eyes. They tortured me for three years straight, with all the different kinds of turtle you can think of.
